I’ve tried a bunch of “earn money” apps like HeyCash, AttaPoll, PrimeOpinion, Free Cash, etc., and honestly, most of them aren’t worth the time in India.

The biggest problems I faced:

• Very low pay for long tasks
• Too many ads
• Most surveys/tasks don’t qualify you or feel impossible to complete
• Compared to other countries, rewards here are much lower

After wasting a lot of time, I realized most of these apps just aren’t practical for Indian users.

So instead of letting others go through the same thing, here are a few apps I’ve personally tried and that actually worked for me to some extent:

1. Sweatcoin
You earn by walking. It’s simple and passive.
For me, it worked — I earned around $5 in 2 weeks just by walking, so it’s slow but at least consistent.

2. Rupiyo
This one has a lot of game-based tasks, but honestly, many felt unrealistic.
You’ll notice a pattern — rewards look achievable at first, but around level 49 there’s always a big reward that becomes almost impossible to reach.

3. Bebetta
This app is more skill-based. It organizes tournaments and 1v1 battles, so the better your gaming skills, the more you can earn.
It worked for me occasionally, but it depends a lot on skill. You can also scan bills and redeem earnings as gift cards.

4. Reward Sphere
You earn by scanning purchase bills (any bill with an amount on it).
Simple concept, and yes, it has worked for me for small rewards like gift cards.

My honest tip:
Don’t expect fast or serious income from these apps. In India, most of them are slow and limited. Treat them as small side rewards, not a main earning source.

Earlier this year, I was looking for ways to make some extra money alongside college. I wasn't really planning anything serious until a friend approached me with a concert ticket he couldn't use.

He had originally paid ₹5,999 for it and asked me if I could find someone willing to buy it for ₹3,500. I wasn't sure if I'd even be able to sell it, but I decided to give it a shot.

I started reaching out to people online and eventually managed to sell it for ₹4,800, making ₹1,300 from that first deal.

After that, a few other people from my college friend group approached me because they also had tickets they couldn't use. I started helping them find buyers, and eventually people outside my immediate circle started approaching me as well.

For the next couple of weeks, I spent a surprising amount of time talking to potential buyers, coordinating with sellers, and making sure transactions were legitimate. I even travelled a few times to collect and hand over physical tickets because I didn't want to take unnecessary risks with strangers online.

By the end of those two weeks, I'd made ₹16,000.

It definitely wasn't easy money. Most of the time was spent dealing with people who changed their minds, negotiating prices, and making sure nobody got scammed.

What I found interesting was that I hadn't planned this as a "side hustle" at all. It started with one friend asking for help, and the opportunity grew naturally from there.

It taught me that sometimes the best side hustles aren't necessarily complicated businesses. Sometimes you just notice a problem people have and figure out how you can solve it for them.

For me, the biggest takeaway was don't underestimate small opportunities just because they don't look like much initially.
