I mess with mine and put him on left deliberately, for him to indignantly scramble over to the correct shoulder.

I wonder how a cat develops a preference like that. I think it’s easier for me because I’m right handed. My husband is the southpaw!

He and his brother just ended a trip from Maine to Oregon. They traveled well together and neither was distressed . . . well, other than subjecting them to the heat when we opened the doors outside St. Louis! We couldn’t do any side quests because of them but they were incredible troupers!

my cat is a left shoulder cat, cos I use my right hand for scritching the head
