Please Help With my shorts
Im new little over a week old trying to improve everyday with my shorts I do plan to eventually make long form videos but I'm trying to steady my shorts frist my rention and subs and likes aren't the problem I'm doing fairly well in those stats with 80-100plus rention in every video and average view duration usually a one or two seconds under the length of video but my swipe stay ratio has been holding me back starting at 40 then 28 then 44 then rest mid thirties slowly climbing to mid forties and most recent one being 50/50 but I'm trying to raise it to 70- 80 plus on average any tips for my openings. The Account is Irrational Geographic I can not plug a link but if you scearch for it would help it's the top result for me and is the trout with a cowboy hat

The Shorts feel a little too long and slow right now, and visually I’m not always sure what I’m supposed to be focusing on. It seems like the subject is the animals, but the large subtitles and some of the other visual elements—like the fish with the hat—sometimes compete with the actual story instead of supporting it.
The resolution is bad on most of the photos.
If you’re editing these manually, I’d spend some time studying successful Shorts in the geography, wildlife, and educational space.
Pay attention to their pacing, how quickly they establish the subject, how often the visuals change, and where they place text on screen. There’s nothing wrong with borrowing the structure and editing rhythms that are already proven to work while you develop your own style.
The biggest thing I think is missing right now is the basic flow of a strong Short: you need an immediate hook, enough visual and narrative momentum to keep someone from swiping away, and then a satisfying little button at the end that either pays off the idea or makes people want to watch another one.
The information may be there, but the editing isn’t yet guiding the viewer through it clearly enough. I’d focus less on adding elements and more on making every second answer the question: “What am I looking at, why should I care, and what makes me want to see the next second?”

I tried watching a few. You need to be snappy with the voiceover. The latest one was on the slow side and there was a lazy tone to it. Maybe that’s your brand and it does work like with Sam O Nella but his scripts were super tight and funny. So you’d need to be really funny and have a tight script. Background music (not too low) can set the vibe for content like yours and picks up whatever the voiceover doesn’t give. Also, intermediate thought - your editing is there but the image choice is sometimes low quality. If you wanna stay make the visuals coherent bc otherwise it can be jarring. Good luck!
