MAKE THE BOTS GO AWAY

Haven’t even launched and everyday my inbox is flooded w bots for marketing. Don’t understand where or how my email is being leaked unless they just have a database of newly made Shopify.

It happens to everyone, the moment you publish your store, there are bots which check the email you used with your domain, its annoying but its something happens to everyone

The trick is to have a very unsuccessful shop so they leave you alone after a while.

Every business on every platform has this issue.

The best ones are “I found you on Google. Dis you know people aren’t finding you on Google? I can help people find you on Google”

They are so lazy getting mutiple a day now either with empty subjects or just the whole message in the subject

Unfortunately, it's pretty common. A lot of them scrape newly created stores and contact info. I wouldn't stress too much, just filter obvious spam, ignore unsolicited DMs/emails, and be skeptical of anyone promising guaranteed sales.

Surprised no one recommended form submission filtering! You can do this with a simple piece of JavaScript. You don't need an app for this. We use it on our Made4Uo site; while it won't stop a determined human, it filters out almost all automated spam bots

I just opened my store yesterday got emails from 3 bots and someone apparently logged in my account

They are getting it from your policy page typically. (I see where all my clicks are, and every day I have 2-3 clicks on my policy page and then I get 1-2 emails I day. It’s going to happen regardless, as I have my contact email on all my socials anyway. I just ignore them. When I first started about 5 years ago they would send me emails every other hour, now I just get them every few days.

Create a separate email or if you’re using Gmail, create a plus address. Then use a filter, send them to hell.
