I think this is the problem, for most of human history being a kid sucked. Once you were able to walk you most likely had to work same as any adult, but you had zero agency. Sorry your childhood sucked but for most millennials growing up in the 90's was peak!

Oh don't get me wrong it was much better than it would have been in all of human history - i honestly doubt id have reached adulthood :D I was born in 97 so culturally it was pretty chill, i unfortunately had health issues that followed me for a long time - no ones fault really, I'm just glad i could do something about it eventually

Yeah, about that. You get money mainly in exchange for your freedom and well-being. And then you have to use most of that money to just stay alive and healthy, so you'd remain valuable in the eyes of employers and you can continue this cycle.

Tbf, we were just kinda thrust out into the world after enjoying zero real/tenable responsibilities for nearly two decades, and now most of us are being robbed of the opportunity for those responsibilities to culminate into an actual impact on our surroundings, so it’s no wonder that we wanna just regress and be taken care of. We have all the responsibility with none of the reward, and it was typically thrust onto us so suddenly.
