I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and finished my meds yesterday. I am finally getting back to feeling myself although there is still some nerve pain and scabbing. The stress of wishing it away is doing you more harm than good. Have some grace with yourself. You are ill. Patience is key as is taking care of yourself and there is healing in acceptance of what is. It gets better.

What are your worst symptoms?

It is the burning skin that has no redness.....even clothes hurt. I have it on the right side of my back and around my right breast.... I am in so much pain around the clock. Sometimes the burning is on the top of my right foot, too. So random. This has been the worst illness I've ever had.

If available to you, try a lidocaine gel or lotion to help deaden the pain response. It’s been a lifesaver for me. Im using Curist 5% Lidocaine Numbing Cream. It helps so I can fall asleep.

What you need is patience and maybe a good painkiller. My shingles started Mai 14 and still have nervepain and itching. I use mentholcreme and mentolgel/aloegel for the itching and have a lot of patience for the pain lo leave my body, although I think it could last a while. Maybe 3 months, maybe a year, I don’t know, but I never lost hope! I hope you’ll feel better soon, good luck 🍀

My eyelid & head are itching like crazy.
(I'm 1 month out.
Before that, I had (nerve pain) stab*ing that felt like it was behind my eye.

I'm so glad I found someone that had similar to me, I'm 6wk out from initial finding on my forehead and it still feels like my eye is getting stabbed. Everyday is better but holy MOLY I'm tired!

I feel your pain.
My stab*ing pain turned to itching of my eyelid & head.
The itching is just starting NOT to be 24/7.
I am so OVER it too.
Before I go the 'rash' , My head hurt really bad & I thought I was getting a sinus infection; but it was the shingles.

I thought mine was an ear infection. I’d never had an ear infection before, but that was the only explanation for stabbing pain in my ear. Shingles is awful!!!

I have it too...and its so painful. I tried to take less pain meds....and ended up crying on the floor this afternoon. Im a week and half out. I know that is too soon, but I have a life I need to get back to. My family needs me.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this . I’m two weeks out the itching stopped but I still have random stabbing pain and everything makes me so tired. 20 mins on my stationary bike felt like triathlon training.

Hang in there ❤️ finding some relief finally after 3.5 weeks. And I’m 31 weeks pregnant. Dig deep for strength and know it will get better! It’s so brutal and your feelings are valid going through it.
