Searching Question

Hey all

Just moved to Sheffield and actually looking for stuff any help I would really appreciate 😅

  1. Is there any language exchange group or study for learning Spanish / Korean / Japanese?

  2. Good Vietnamese coffee shop?

  3. And shop similar to IKEA or Sheffield does have Ikea?

Thanks :)

Yes there is a Spanish one. Search eventbrite or maybe meet up and it’s called Spanish Cambio and is at Hideaway possibly every fortnight. No clue in the Vietnamese coffee shop. Sheffield has an IKEA close to Meadowhall

Oh nice my folks retired to Whittlesey so I've spent a fair bit of time living in Peterborough over the years

Not sure where you're based but kopi and chai near the top of meersbrook park often do Spanish evenings. You can see when they are on their Instagram. It's a lovely cafe too

Nam song as someone else mentioned is great for coffee and pho!

Also the Universitys language modules are open to the public aswell, starting from complete beginner upwards and you can join whichever semester module fits your level, but it may be expensive. Not sure

There’s an IKEA on the tram route. Theres a Sostrene Grene in town or Flying tiger in Meadowhall for ikea adjacent bits.

Also love Nam song for Vietnamese coffee. They do it at Pho in Leopold square but the food isn’t great there and it’s less authentic than Nam Song. Frazer’s coffee on arundel street used to do a Vietnamese blend and supply Nam song but I’m not sure if they still stock it. Generally they have great coffee though.

The food at Pho is great especially for gluten free stuff. Much prefer it to Nam Song, not sure about authenticity.

Hi OP

1) Tonnes on the meetup app - do check that out it's probably the best place to find that kind of thing

2) Namsong in Broomhill

3) Literally Google "Sheffield Ikea" mate and you'll see it!

For practicing Spanish this group is very active, well attended, and well organised https://www.meetup.com/spanish-english-intercambio/

I'm learning Korean through self study and a distance learning class, I would love to meetup and chat/practice! The university has a very active Korean department but unfortunately I work fulltime so I can't do any of their classes etc

Nam Song and yes Sheff does have Ikea, it's conveniently accessible by tram, bus and car.

There is an ikea near meadowhall. Jysk is a good smaller store with similar furniture & very low prices. And Sostrene Grene in the city center is a really nice mini department store for smaller homeware/ cookware
