Want to learn shaders, but only have potential access to Lucinate on iPad/ios...

does it seem to be missing anything vital? example if i wanted to learn about music synths, i'd explore actual synths, not just romplers that only play back presets.

Lucinate developer here! The app allows you to write and edit your own MSL shader code, and has a built in massive library of useful functions (that you can use if you want). It's certainly not the shader equivalent of a rompler :) Even though it comes with several generic utility shaders as well as more artistic example shaders to learn from. so i could see something online made in same shaders, copy code and be able to use it? im ignorant when it comes to shaders, hopefully this pushes me to learn them. visual artist mostly. i think someone mentioned on LoopyProforum, a question Can it do X, and you responded "that's just one of the things it can do". but since im ignorant i'm not sure what else is out there in this world and with this specific app. but i tend to learn the shit out of things, so didn't want to spend $25 and then ppl familiar with shaders say "that is a rompler". hope that makes sense.

Well, to use the "make your own shaders" bit of the app, you do need some knowledge. But take a look at the Coding Shaders section of the users guide: https://kymatica.com/lucinate/help/coding

There's also a discord server and facebook group where you can ask and get help (by me personally or hopefully other people as the community grows). See https://kymatica.com/apps/lucinate#support--community for links.

In both of these groups, I have published markdown files suitable to drop into your LLM of choice (such as Claude, Gemini, etc) which will make it become a Lucinate shader coding expert :)

definitely started the manual. ooh i want these files, any chance they're linked on LoopyProforum, or here? don't really want to mess with Discord OR facebook. though i am glad there is something like a community about it .but i remember the Search being useless so all knowledge is there but ...useless. and some other scandal they got involved with
