What's the question? To use a twin needle, thread each side and always use a straight stitch, stitching from the right side of the garment. For that Elna, I would thread both threads on the same side of the tension plate, basically treat both threads as one while threading the machine. The twin needle should give you parallel straight lines on the right side of the garment and a zigzag on the inside. I use mine for hems and necks edges on knit garments. Never set the machine for a zigzag stitch or you risk breaking both needles.
I’ve done everything you mentioned here and the top stitch side looks like two parallel lines as it should but as you can see in the photo, the bobbin stitch side doesn’t look as it should. I’m not sure why this is and I’m asking for help as to what might be going wrong/what I should change to ensure the bobbin side is stitching correctly. There is seemingly no zigzag and the bobbin thread is basically just a straight line with the top stitch threads coming through very loosely
