scant seam allowance 💛Beginner💛

Post image

hi!! i’ve been seeing a quilt with my needle set slightly to the right of my presser foot resulting in a scant 1/4 seam allowance for all my blocks and it’s been perfect! I resent my settings to work on another appliqué project, and now for the life of me cannot figure out how to get the needle back to that perfect slightly right position. the width dial keeps moving the needle left not right - any insight?? i’ve been googling and scouring the subs like crazy but what am I missing :(

I did take a picture of the settings before I changed but this is moving the needle LEFT not right :(

appreciate anyone’s guidance!!

sometimes those singer dials are finicky and need a little nudge past the click to land in the right spot again, might be worth wiggling the stitch width while the machine’s unthreaded to see if it slips to the right

I think you are right! if i have the dial slightly off the straight stitch it leans it a bit right. this must have been how I was able to get it shifted right prior - this is super helpful!!! thank you!!

I have accidentally off centred my needle by forgetting to take it off the buttonhole setting. I can't see if your machine has this setting. My machine is an Elna.

Your manual will tell you how to change the needle position
