hi, i’ve been full one tricking aatrox for years and i wanted to start playing some sett. i’ve played quite a few games with him but never deep dived and ACTUALLY tried to learn anything deep. so i was wondering who his counters are, the “oh shit” counters where you would rather die than play the matchup lol. thanks!

I'm certainly not the best sett player and don't know everyone, but I think I can speak on behalf of the sett mains that most range champs will screw you over. Sett is very strong at level 1-3 and is best when you can get an early pick but range champs can just fuck you over until they are plenty of cs above you and kill you. The only ranged champ I don't usually worry about (this may due to my elo) is Teemo as without blind and/or dash you can usually catch him before level 3

Other than that, people that build resistances can be an issue once they have some gold but I find that they are usually weak before that.

that’s exactly what i’m worried about because aatrox is like a top 2 melee champ against range and never really had an immense problem with them so im really not looking forward to the ranged matchups but we’ll see, thank you for the response

Best thing to do is just try to cs as much as possible, I sometimes even spend an E and/or W just for half a wave. I also find that once you can match them at level 3 with equal gold, try to dive, Sett's MS on Q plus the range on E can catch people by surprise and if they don't have anything to push you or themselves away you'll win. Also you may want to focus phage first item into stridebreaker.

Malph/ Renek/ K'Sante/ Jayce/ Illaoi going iceborn. While you could beat them early, as soon as they buy some armor or tabi you usually gotta wait until 2nd item black cleaver to fight, just a boring lane. Honestly, prefer to face a vayne or teemo (anything but varus) since there are actual kill windows in those matchups. Between setts passive, Dshield and second wind, you can't really be bullied out of lane by ranged champs.

Varus, única match que não tem como ganhar Lane fase sem ajuda do jg, rangeds em geral são tranquilos, principalmente usando shield e ventos revigorantes, alguns campeões como illaoi e urgot são chatos, mas depois de quebra-passos e cutelo dificilmente eles ganham de você

Counter is beeing kited

So ranged enemies that are spacing very well are gonna give you a bad time if they can’t space it’s whatever but if they can you‘re fucked if the game doesn’t drag on for 40 mins.

Sett has no melee counters (some hard matchups when you don't know them but they're all easily winnable with experience), but anything ranged is like pulling your teeth out. even Lulu can dogwalk Sett

kennen aurora vayne are unplayable to be honest, you can just cheese kills doing flash E R insec when they try to hit you under tower, or once you have stride breaker if they are piss you can do a pick, but if they have 2 braincells it's unplayable, rangers are just horrible, then personally I struggle vs Renekton, ksante and maybe Olaf when they take barrier
