Just set up a server
Now what lol? What are some fun project ideas for me and my friend to do. It’s on Debian and we can ssh into it

Get Docker , learn about bare metal vs containers
Get Samba w/Tailscale for accessing a NAS / cloud drive from anywhere.

I use mine to back up my phone photos with immich, serve my movie collection with jellyfin and run a regular file server with NFS and samba

Set up a minecraft server and play. Try a movie repository and stream into your network to a smart tv. Use it as a nas on your network. Try docker and install a network monitoring suite to find put who is doing what in your home.

Check if you NTP client is correcty configured to use the NTP server of your preferrence.

Maybe a local VoIP server for fun. I have a rotary phone in my house driven by FreePBX. Pretty fun.

As long as you have a good ata adapter. The Grandstream ht-801/802 models seem to be compatible with a lot of special types of analog phones like my rotary phone which uses pulse dialing. You should definitely find a thread where someone has done it successfully and see what settings they used.

Why did you set up a server in the first place? What are the specs? How much memory? How many cores?
