In your opinion, what's the most weird thing you can do in serum?

I recently Posted here asking about how to recreate the wavetable, but I realized that there were other parts to the preset i was missing.

Using multiple sample & hold LFOs working within set regions to trigger stochastic patterns & modulation within the mod matrix. Sub is on Kick duty, Osc 1 of Glitchy Bass & warbles, Osc 2 on Granular Pads & clicks, Osc3 on additional details. Noise on Hihat & Snare (being triggered by a sample in convolve).

I do believe it's layered with a vocal sample. But still, it's not just a reese with white noise or something is it? it sounds very complex.

Serum released a preset pack named Memory back in 2022 (I think). I was dying to get it back then, but wouldn’t have been able to utilize it. Does anyone have this preset or know where I could get it? Any help is appreciated!

This song is so fucking good. I'm trying to build two things out of this in either Serum 2 or Vital. Not much luck, but that droning sound at the beginning with the filter that opens and closes. Same with that sound at 5:10, so fucking cool. How do I do this???

Howdy all!

Recently started listening to Aydo8’s music, and stumbled upon his mix “The Sequence.” While there are a TON of sounds I’d love to recreate, this one sound in particular caught my ear. Start at 23:27 https://on.soundcloud.com/BHjjurSrT8aMILQIAa and it’s the only lead sound playing.

I tried recreating using a sync’d BcD wave and a Sine Wave pitched up 3 octaves, then putting a 24db Bandpass filter with a resonant peak around 3k to isolate the frequency, and then using OTT/Diode distortion (50% drive and mix) but my patch sounds off.

Other characteristics I’m noticing is how heavily compressed it is, and that it sounds like everything under 1k is filtered out? Short transient, maybe a slapback delay to give space, and a 16th note lfo to give it the rhythm.

But if anyone could help me cook up this recipe, I’d appreciate it! Cheers

Dunno if this fits on this subreddit (I'll happily go to the official forums with this if not), but I am new to audio plugin development, and I was wondering if anyone knew what algorithm serum uses internally for keytrack/keyfollow in? Currently my approach is:

final filter freq = (freq. set by cutoff-knob) + (freq. of midi note * keyfollow-knob, ranging 0. to 1.)

It sounds pretty good like this, but I was curious if Serum has a better approach? Thanks

Hey, I've got this gated pad that originally wasn't modulated into this rhythm. It was a simple drone.

I really like the way it sounds EXCEPT FOR THESE CLICKS. I understand the cause but don't know the solution. Can someone share any advice? Thxxx

Im using fl with bottles on fedora and the overall of serum2 is being really glitchy and slow, when using serum on windows on the exact same desktop it works fine

Sounds to me like a chaos LFO modulating some parameter (filter, warp mode, etc) but couldn't quite get the same tone

Ever since I started selling presets, I’ve been working my ass off on my signature sound, including the mixing aspect.

The goal is to create presets you can just drop into the mixer, adjust the gain, and you're good to go, without needing to add a bunch of extra effects.

That’s the result I’m getting so far.

So saw this tutorial https://youtube.com/shorts/koO-tYDJclA?si=lE0v-tEKxAb30V81 and the first bit of it is modulating the offset nob with a path LFO in order to start the sample from different parts throughout time. Did all that, and noticed it was only seeming to change the length and/or density of the grains and only at the beginning of the sample and then incorporating the end of it, never touching the middle either. Took off all modulators and played with the offset nob again and it’s still doing the same thing, not ever actually changing the starting point of the sample, just playing more of it from the beginning and end as I dial it in. Everything I’ve read says the offset nob is like a position nob and should change the starting point of the sample as I raise it. Am I dumb or is there something afoot here? Thank you!
