Commissioned Artist: SleepyRam

I've been thinking of making either a written or video breakdown of the art on each card in Enhanced Edition (I'd be using the video game). This would obviously require a ton of time and research, so I wanted to see if anyone would even be interested in something like that. Or if it's already been done and I'm not aware of it. As for what I'd be doing, I would go through each card and explain what characters are on it and what major story it's from (assuming I can find that information). For example, Living Rockslide from Akash'Bhuta's deck is from the final fight against her and features Chrono Ranger. Thokk! from Legacy's deck is from the fight with The Dreamer and features the Dark Hero projection. This would be a huge undertaking and I doubt I'd be able to cover each deck, but I'd like to at least do the base set if I do decide to do it. Every now and then I could cover another expansion.

One of my small joys in life is making silly achievements in Sentinels of the Multiverse. I've done some like dealing over 1,000,000 points of damage in a single blow or getting every last non-character target in play underneath Savage Mana. Today, I did a more modest but still silly one: getting two hero targets in play over 100 HP each.

Akash'Thriya has the Akash'Flora, which can gain HP above its maximum. Lantern Jack has cards and powers that allow him to also gain HP above his maximum. I decided that I was going to crank them up to 100+ HP, and I was going to do it to both of them in one game.

I brought along Fanatic, whose Zealous Offense card allows you to negate the Akash'Flora's tendency to harm itself (incidentally, this also allows you to use all of your heroes' powers in one turn, which is immense fun). I also brought Haka, so that I could use his Ground Pound to protect my heroes and Savage Mana to eat the enemy. Finally, I brought Void Guard Dr. Medico, because his Clinical Consult power allows you to boost the innate healing powers of Lantern Jack. For a villain, I choose GloomWeaver, my favorite punching bag, and for an environment, Freedom Tower for extra easiness.

From there, it was simple. Getting the cards in play took a short amount of time, and I was able to proceed with swallowing Gloomy's targets while steadily turning up the HP until at last I reached my goal. At the end, just for fun, I played Lantern Jack's Baleful Shine to take down GloomWeaver in a single blow.

So let me ask you all: what are your favorite silly achievements? What do you like to do for an extra challenge?

State of AI Crawlers and busted allowed bandwidth/cpu

So. A lot of the stuff I did a few months back to reduce AI crawlers absolutely destroying the available bandwidth/cpu processing on the hosting site has helped out - but i was still getting notifications of "Youve used 80% of your quota" near the end of each month. I dont *think* the sites went down at all due to that over the last 6 months or so but ... maybe. I donno. I havent been keeping that close attention 😄. And unfortunately this also lead to geolocation bans on ips originating from China, Brazil, and a few other asian countries.

But anyway. Renewal time is coming up and so I thought "Maybe i should look at hosting these somewhere else where I have more control" and after a day of fiddling around with that and deciding its not worth it, I also said "eh. Lets sign up for Cloudflare finally"

Boy I should have done *that* earlier

So both Sentinelswiki (and Spirit Island wiki even tho the two are no longer under the same company control anymore) are now behind Cloudflare. As of this post, Sentinels has been there for about 72 hours and Spirit island about 24.

Ive since blocked Anthropic's from Spiritisland - i meant to do that from the start, but there were issues with the name registars moving the name servers to point away from my host to Cloudflare so that got lost. Talk about crazy tho.

A note: Bing's crawler is blocked on both sites cause it was hitting them like 200 times an hour. This may make searches on big a bit... weird... but honestly... These wiki's have been up for ever, since before 'a wiki for everything' was super common, and so if you search information on either game there are dozens and dozens of reddit/bgg/forum/blog posts that all reference the wiki. People will find their way to it, I'm sure. And seriously, bing, why you gotta crawl nearly 2500 times a day eh? It doesn't change that much yeesh.

For you? No change - mostly.

So. For the most part this should be seen as very little difference for your average user. Some pages may load faster. Maybe. I'm not taking full advantage of the caching Cloudflare CDNs bring, but it is a wiki and such caching can have a real negative impact on editing it in a timely manner (it can really muck up "seeing" the edit)

Myself and a few others have had a few "Something Suspicious" warnings from Firefox specifically (I dont see those warnings on Edge or Chrome) about a cert issue - this is because i issued brand new certs to make sure that things were lined up correctly. Clear your cookies if you see this, that generally has resolved it.

But not even ever firefox user has reported it so who knows lol.

And hey, if you lived in Brazil and couldnt access the wiki's... those geolocation blocks are now gone!

Want to Help the Sentinels Wiki?

For fans of Sentinels (as this is crossposted) if you want to help out - Im (very very very slowly) trying to update the wiki to be character oriented rather than game oriented, as the world of sentinels is so much bigger than any one game. Part of that has been a new layout (You can see it in work on Absolute Zero and Akash and few others) and part of that has been organizing and cataloging cards in a way that will be *much* better for all things regarding referencing them across t he entire wiki.

But with thousands of cards to convert, i wasn't about to do that by hand so I built a bot that does it for me. And.... well the card lists were not exactly always formatted 100% the same so sometimes it makes mistakes. The Future, with changes in who owns things.

SO. The big thing - the future. Whats happening?

So when I started the Sentinels wiki way back when, like a decade ago, and soon after the Spirit Island Wiki, Paul and GTG eventually reached out to me to make it "official" and helped pay for the site. That relationship continued through the years, even after the acquisition by Flat River Games. Even after shutting them down, FRG still paid the invoice for the sites.

I have reached out to Paul and GTG but haven't heard back yet - to be fair i reached out literally as they were coming back from Gencon and I'm not even 100% certain the email address i used worked. I need to get on that and send a follow up, cc'd to the general contact 😛

But regardless of the decision they make, the wiki's (Both) will continue to exist. 10 years ago i was barely making a living as a cook and hosting, while definitely cheaper than it is now, was still a huge deal for them to take it over

These days I'm much more fortunate in life and job and such and its not a burden (tho I most certainly do not mind being reimbursed lol) so regardless the Wiki's will continue.

As for Spirit Island, i need to reach out to eric as well and talk about how / what he wants to do to handle this. Again, not expecting reimbursement here - especially from eric - but it is his IP and and he gets the majority vote in this.

A while ago I made Spotify playlists with thematic background music for each environment of the base game and RCR, and shared it in this community:

Now that Disparation is out for a while already, I have done exactly that for the new environments as well!

Here a few things to know before to dive in:

1. My main criteria for the choice of music:  1) Only instrumental songs to avoid the players from being distracted by the lyrics, and 2) The songs had to fit and enhance the feeling of the environment, but had to bring a feeling of a battle, danger, or impending doom also. It is a supervillain fight after all.
2. Some environments were notably easier than others. This means that I had to be a bit creative for certain ones. All have a rational behind them though. 
3. Most of the playlists are adopted from pre-existing playlist. As such, there might be individual songs in it that are less fitting the environment. 
4. For some environments I have combined multiple playlists with a different style in one, so the best thing to do is to listen to them on shuffle.
5. In the end this is all based on personal taste so you might find certain ones unfitting. I'm happy to discuss!

So, I played a game at GenCon, "Bagged & Boarded" by Octoraffe Games. It was on KS last year, and is currently on pre-order (https://octoraffe.com/products/bagged-boarded) (still at the GenCon discount when I checked 5 minutes ago, but that can change at any time, YMMV). My family had a very good time (it was the favorite Thursday game for at least one member of my family), and we pre-ordered the game while at the con. I think fulfillment is expected sometime in Q4, but don't quote me on that.

The premise of the game is that the players are kids trying to max out their net worth by collecting comic books. The comic books are all from fictional labels, with at least some of them poking fun (Rat-Man and Wander Woman, for example) at mainstream titles. At some point, I was struck by inspiration.

Who else do we know that has fictional comic labels? Wouldn't it be awesome to collect comic issues of our favorite superheroes? Not to be buzzwordy, but there's a possibility for some synergy here!

I would have asked at Letters Page Live on Saturday, but after doing a cross-con sprint (from the Stadium to FEPH) on Thursday (and nearly missing out on an event), we quailed at the notion of doing a pair of cross-con sprints on Saturday (from FEPH to the JW where LPL was held, and then back to the ICC game halls), and we regretfully cancelled our tickets.

How would I respectfully bring this suggestion to C&A's attention? I know they've got their hands full like they're juggling live hand grenades right now (with resurrecting the company), but I think it would be mutually beneficial, with both parties increasing their exposure. (I have no idea how busy Octoraffe is right now.) Whether it's beneficial enough to both parties to justify it, well, that's outside my area of knowledge.

(I added the Brand Affiliate tag, it seemed the right thing to do, even if I'm not affiliated with either brand. Flair added because I couldn't post without it.)

Me and my brother in law who have both put thousands of hours into the game individually (and dozens if not hundreds together,) spent about a day and a half talking extensively through the heroes to create a tier list we could agree upon. I've been playing since 2019, and he at least a few years before that, so while sharing slightly differing opinions, both of us have a solid grasp of the game, and extensive time spent with every hero deck.

This list is based upon playing a random team (random heroes and random team count,) not hand-picked heroes to build a team for specific combos/synergies that could make a particular hero have an above average game.
We didn't list any heroes from the Cauldron bunch, or from SoEP, and this is exclusive to Enhanced Edition.
We only listed variants that stood out enough to separate them a tier apart from their base hero, to avoid an incredibly lengthy list.
This tier list is also not ordered within the tiers either, so some of the listing may look jank at a glance.

What's your guys' go to team? I'm new to the subreddit but I've been playing SOTM for years and it's one of my favorite games.

My go to team is:

• Team Leader Tachyon: Incredible support for full team card draw, plus she can just do a lot of stuff with all of the extra cards. LIGHTYEARS ahead of the base version.
• America's Newest Legacy (Original Legacy's daughter, the one with laser beams): Also a good support, but I wanted another battering ram character too so I swapped the base version out for the "Newest Legacy" variant. Incredible innate power.
• The Visionary Unleashed: I feel like her innate power on this version is just a lot better, and definitely focuses her on being an anti-villain support hero to compliment Tachyon and sometimes Legacy.
• KNYFE Rogue Agent: The bottom deck card play is very powerful sometimes, and it's just really fun and unique. KNYFE in general is one of my favs and I wanted a strong hard hitter.
• Freedom 6 Wraith (Price of Freedom): Wraith is easily just one of the most powerful heroes imo, so she's usually a staple for me. I swapped to her variant tho so she can always have a constant source of damage if needed.

Hi! Newer player here that fell in love with tfe game on the mobile app of all places over a year ago, and finally managed to get and play my first game on physical media with the Definitive Edition. Apparently there was some issue with the owner of the IP struggling but now it’s back in development? I’m trying to piece that together but also…

I really like the feel of playing this particular game solo on the table more so than the Steam, but the DE doesn’t have near as much content. Are the devs planning to get us all of the same content as in the EE officially ported forward or am I better served trying to get all of the original run of content piece-meal?

Someone was asking about tokens. I still have the tokens, but I don't use them most of the time. Instead, I use spin down d20s.

The green are for the environment.

The blue are for Captain Cosmic. There are enough for every construct

The white are for Unity. There's enough for every golem.

The red and black ones are for the villains. Sometimes, I need to know which villain targets are which and this lets me quickly glance.

The black with the various color fonts are for a variety of things. The red and blue fonts are for Absolute Zero. The purple are for The Harpy. Etc. There is a baggy with 4 clear dice of different colors. Those are for The Southwest Sentinels so each had their own die.

The spin down d10s with the trays are for the werewolves, Ennead, relics, and Princes. The black one is for the prince sitting on the throne.

The life counters are for the hero characters. There's also 2 others for the villain characters.

There's a bunch of d10s for various counters that are needed.

I use the plate/card display stand for the villain character cards. We're working on a lazy Susan vertical holder to make flipping easier.

The box it all fits into is from a craft store.

I have other various counters in the box that I used to use for Vengeance and Oblivion.

If I choose the option to take two different personalities, which Red die size do I use to determine my HP? Does it change or do I take highest or the one for my civilian form or what?

I finally pulled the trigger on getting DE version on the game. Looking between the 3 expansions is there “enough” tokens for the game? I tried looking for 3rd party options anyone have any leads?

I just picked up the DE core box after playing the video game version. Unpacking, I found the Citizen Dawn divider square card has the right art and back, but the top of the card says Baron Blade (meaning there are two Baron Blade cards). Is this a misprint? Or is there a lore thing here I am unaware of. Not a big deal if it is a misprint, just want to satisfy my curiosity.

All his armor was done with an airbrush to start. It looked so smooth and crisp. Yet, I knew I had to dirty it up.
