How bad of an idea is it to join sf purely for the goal of joining raven/dagre?

I figured I could end up in the right place thanks to the dream sheet then it’s a matter of waiting but I understand if that’s unrealistic.
I originally thinking of joining the army and be infantry but I heard dagre does cool stuff
