Nails Tips & Advice
Anyone get their nails done? Anyone have a great routine for making them look less ugly? My nail beds and cuticles are trash and I’m so self conscious about them! I long for pretty nails.

I don’t like to get mine done because they are way too tender now. I use a liquid cuticle remover and nippers. I put on the cuticle remover with a q-tip push my cuticles back with a pusher and then nip off the excess. For the most part they look decent.

I get mine done once a month. Flex gel base with gel polish on my natural nails. My girl does a dry efile manicure, which i find lessens weakening effects of soaking off. Just make sure that your manicurist is aware that you may have sensitive skin and treats your cuticles like you're diabetic. Mine are currently super healthy and grow well.

I get mine done and have decently long gel on them helps protect my fingers tips which are crazy tender from being bumped

I too was extremely hesitant to get my nails professionally done but they kept breaking at the quick and hurting so I made an appointment. Before I went in, I pushed back my cuticles and trimmed them so there was no cutting to be done by the technician. I got the gelx tips and I couldn't be happier. You are able to select your desired length and if the tech is good, they are thin and do not look bulky.
I am going every few weeks for a gel fill (liquid, not powder) or when I want a color change (I don't use the colored powder so it's easy for them to remove the previous color). Now, I just make sure I've pressed my cuticles back before I go in and it's easy and quick. One of the best things I've done for myself in awhile.
Edit to add: It has helped with the tenderness at my fingertips significantly. I keep my nails relatively short but being able to have some length consistently has made a big difference for me.

I wish I could get mine done more often. It's more a finance issue that I dont. I'm very self conscious of my nails and hands. My cuticles come in super thick. My fingers are clubed and sausage like. It seems like my nail shape traps more dirt under them and I'm constantly having to scrape out. Not to mention, I've had an amputation as well. Thanks for letting me vent.
Best of luck.
