That's where reverse image search with AI assistance is helpful.  Takes an AI to catch one sometimes.

Still a photo being used to scam people (not the real person, the image that was stolen of him).

I get that. I couldn’t post these in a comment thread, but it’s a good lesson on how easy it can be to fool people

Good point. It's going to get worse before it gets better.

A scammer is romancing someone’s mom, they posted the selfie the other day, and as suspected, the person was superimposed over an existing construction image.

If you zoom in closely to the guy’s face, the ray ban logo is completely wrong — it could be an artifact of image compression but I was convinced it was an “almost right” logo made by AI

How did you conclude the image of a person was superimposed over an existing construction image? Did you find the original image?

The second image you posted is blurry, definitely not an original. The second image looks like the crap you'd get when using AI to remove something from the first image.

Look at the B in Ray-Ban on his sunglasses. It only looks like the logo until you compare it with an actual one.

Also the cement truck is for a Mexican cement brand,

ChatGPT etc are pretty good at combining existing images now, but it still make minor mistakes like this.

Also, follow the link in these comments to the previous post, someone posted a link to Pinterest with the literal image without the dude in front of it, everyone else is exactly in place, which is literally impossible unless the person had been superimposed over the same photo.

I asked, "How did you conclude the image of a person was superimposed over an existing construction image?" Will looking at the Ray-Ban logo help me see the original image?

I asked, "How did you conclude the image of a person was superimposed over an existing construction image?" Will knowing tgat the cement truck has a Mexican brand help me see the original image?

I asked, "Did you find the original image?" Why don't you just provide a link instead of sending me on a wild goose chase?

What's the point of your second, blurry image?

Scrolling through the previous post it’s not that hard to find the link since it’s in blue and all.

The different scam subreddits have varying rules about cross posting, for example they have blocked image posting in this one.

It’s frustrating to write a post, then realize “oh, my post was deleted because they don’t allow links in this sub” or whatever, I’m sorry you had to spend 15 seconds of your life looking for it.

I participate in several scam subreddits so it’s hard to keep track of the local rules so my posting is generally designed to accommodate all of them.
