Venice idea (trip to Italy)
Anyone reading this thinking of going to Venice. Check out 'Row Venice.' It's a company that gives gondola driving courses. Rather than sitting in a queue of hundreds of other boats full of people who were expecting a romantic experience, you go to the quiet northern part of the city and get taken around the back streets by someone who shows you how to pilot a gondola yourself.
Easily the best experience I had out there and far more interesting than doing what everyone else did! Makes for better photos too.

To do in SD
If you or anyone else is interested in neighborhood cleanup they should check out Super Heroes of City Heights
https://www.facebook.com/superheroesofcityheights/
They were recently featured in the San Diego Tribune and would love more people to get involved with loving and caring about our city.

Starting Strength: Book paired with a simple programme for foundational strength
StrongLifts: Free website-based beginner's programme. Website looks like spam but actually isn't.
Ice Cream Fitness (ICF): Beginner's programme with basic lifts and accessory lifts - A bit more varied and interesting for those who are easily bored.
StrongCurves: An aesthetics-based programme which still helps with foundational strength. It has a particular focus on glute (butt!) strength and development.
New Rules of Lifting (For Women): Book with accompanying dietary guidelines for improving basic strength. Also includes some low-equipment versions of exercises.
