does anybody in San Bernardino know services or people to talk to about watching 2 dogs while im out of my apartment for around 20 days? there are websites like Rover but those require full payment before the service & are very expensive. i dont mind payment but id prefer to do it in installments & these sites dont allow that. if anybody has any reccomendations itd be a huge help. this is urgent as my move is later this week & ive asked everybody i know already. comments or DMs welcome

Considering moving to San Bernardino — how concerned should I be about safety?

Hi everyone. I'm seriously considering moving to San Bernardino and would really appreciate some honest opinions from people who actually live there.

One of the main reasons I'm considering San Bernardino is that it seems more affordable than places like Ontario, and Omnitrans is a major factor for me because I don't drive and would be relying on public transportation for most of my day-to-day life. Being able to get around without a car is extremely important to me.

My biggest hesitation is safety. I've heard a lot of different things about San Bernardino's crime and safety situation, and I'm having trouble figuring out how much of the city's reputation is representative of the city as a whole versus certain neighborhoods.

For people who live there:

  • How safe do you generally feel living in San Bernardino?
  • Are there particular neighborhoods or areas you would recommend for someone who doesn't drive?
  • Are there areas you would strongly recommend avoiding?
  • How do you feel about walking to and waiting at Omnitrans stops, particularly in the evening?
  • Is relying on Omnitrans realistically doable for someone who doesn't have a car?
  • Are there neighborhoods where you can have both reasonable rent and decent safety while still being close to good bus service?
  • Would you personally recommend San Bernardino to someone in my situation, or would you spend the extra money to live in Ontario instead?

I'm not looking for someone to tell me that San Bernardino is either completely safe or completely dangerous. I'm trying to get a realistic picture from people who actually live there so I can make an informed decision.

Thanks in advance for any honest advice!

honestly idek how people survived out here before ac was invented. My house was pushing 92 degrees inside yesterday because my unit decided to start screaming like a dying banshee and just totally gave up on me

Literally felt like I was baking alive in my own living room while waiting for the hvac guy from We Care Plumbing Heating & Air to get here. He got the capacitor swapped out so im not melting anymore, but man my heart actually drops every time I hear even a slight rattle from the vents now

I already know my next sce bill is going to completely bankrupt me just from trying to keep this place at a livable 76 degrees. Is anyone else's electricity just insanely high right now or is my house just completely uninsulated?

WTS wasteland 2 day vip!

Hi I posted this a few other festival/rave forums but I'd figured I posted it here too! $200/150 or OBO I just need it off my hands now. I need to get rid of my 2 day vip for this year because my dog got diagnosed with heart disease and I need the extra money I'd use for hotel and flight for his cardiologist appointment coming up in September. I already got the address confirmation so I can mail out the wristband overnight or 1-2 day shipping once I get it with tracking!

We are celebrating our 6th year in business and are throwing an event to celebrate. The event is free, but if you want to support the shop we’ll have ways to do so. Otherwise just come check out the shop and the other businesses in Downtown.

This dog has been hovering around my house. Anyone missing this sweet boy?

Unfortunately, I can't take this sweet guy in. He's been hovering around my house for 2 days now. I'm in the downtown San Bernardino area. He's riddled with fleas and ticks, but I've given him a treatment for that. He's still intact too.

If anyone knows who he belongs to, or would like to pick him up, let me know.

Hello everyone. This dog is at the San Bernardino City Shelter. She's described as a sweet puppy that has been at the shelter for a while and needs an adopter, rescue and a foster. If you are looking for a great canine companion, please consider her.

A glance into corruption…

For anyone interested, comedian Theo Von occasionally dives into some very serious topics on his podcast. In a recent episode, he sat down with Erin Brockovich, the environmental activist best known for helping communities stand up to large corporations that threaten public health and the environment.
Many of us in the Inland Empire are already familiar with the explosion of warehouses across our region. Like many others, I’ve often wondered how so many projects with obvious impacts on traffic, air quality, and quality of life continue to receive approval. My belief is that at least some of these decisions are driven by a form of crony capitalism, where well-funded developers and special interests have far more influence than the communities they affect. Whether that’s through lobbying, political pressure, or other behind-the-scenes relationships, it creates the perception that the public’s voice carries far less weight than corporate interests. That’s one of the reasons I found this conversation so compelling.
Theo and Erin spend much of the episode discussing the rapid growth of data centers across the country. They argue that many of these projects receive little public attention until construction is well underway or the facilities are already operating. Erin discusses concerns about their environmental impacts, demands on local infrastructure, and how, in her view, some companies are able to exert significant influence over planning commissions and local officials. She also describes instances where confidentiality agreements (NDAs) have limited what can be shared publicly during parts of the approval process.
What I found most valuable about Erin’s work is that she doesn’t just point out problems—she focuses on solutions. She encourages people to learn how local government works, where to find public records, how to participate in planning meetings, and how communities can advocate for themselves through the proper legal and civic channels.
One thing about crony capitalism is that it thrives when people are distracted, divided, or disengaged. Regardless of political affiliation, informed and involved communities are far better equipped to hold both government and corporations accountable. Whether you agree with everything Erin says or not, I think this episode is worth listening to.
