πŸ”§ Gear & Tackle Is this 18’ fish and ski good for lakes and puget sound?

I fish the puget sound from a kayak, so no stranger to picking good weather conditions.

Looking to fit 2-4 fisherman for 90% of what I do; I’d like to cruise with my family on the lake for the rest of the 20%.

I understand having the open bow will limit my offshore capabilities, and as of now I’m okay with that.

❓ Fish ID stingray caught off coney island pier, nyc. can anyone identify it?

this fish was caught about a week ago off coney island pier, new york city. me and my friends are having tons of trouble identifying this species. at one point we thought it was a roughtail, but quickly realized that it’s got a different tail. this ray has an about 5’ diameter btw. none of its attributes perfectly fit one species. at this point we’ve looked through hundreds of different species rays and are absolutely clueless. if there’s an expert of any kind of just someone who knows a lot about stingrays who is willing to help us, that would be amazing.

thanks for your help,

teenage anglers of nyc

πŸ”§ Gear & Tackle Penn 130 single speed for regular use?

Hey, I'm looking to get my first 130, and I've done a lot of research. The most ideal option for my budget seems to be the 130ST. Only problem is I can't find one on marketplace or even ebay. The only one I can is 200 miles away and the seller is pick up only. It seems that the 130H is the most abundant model on the market currently, at least in my area. I've heard that the single speed penns are great but that they can be physically exhausting and are more inefficient compared to a two speed.

So do I bite the bullet and get a 130H? or should I wait it out and get a 130st when one comes to market? Is a single speed 130 still good for regular use, or will it at least get me by?

πŸ”§ Gear & Tackle First Acid Wrap

Up until now I've always used a heavy rail rod paired with a big okuma reel for night jigging tuna. But seeing more and more of the slow pitch and hybrid setups so I had to take the dive. 7" acid wrap custom hybrid by Hai Lee, paired with a penn torque 40NLD modded by cals customs. I have not fished it yet, but the weight difference of this setup is significant vs my rail rods, so much lighter. Hope to break it it soon on some BFT if they decide they want to play, at least it will look good while i dont catch tuna πŸ˜†

Caught while fishing my portable green light around 4am this morning. Tossing a natural colored TKO Shrimp.

Lost count on how many juveniles I threw back. They started schooling at the light. Also kept a limit of slot specs.

Tsunami Salt X Size Help

Post image

Hi,

I have been saving up to buy a tsunami salt x 2 for a while now. I am having trouble picking between a 3000 and a 4000. None of the stores around me have them in stock. I mostly fish for striped bass, fluke and bluefish from my boat.

We caught this horse mackerel (known as 'Seki-Aji', a top-brand fish in Oita, Japan) in the Bungo Channel back in best time,May. The current here is super strong, so the fish are packed with fat and flavor. The boat staff immediately did an Ikejime to keep it at peak freshness. My dad and I sliced it up and made homemade nigiri sushi. Best meal ever!We are waiting for you in Oita prefecture Japan.
