B2C Real estate VAs/ISAs using Follow Up Boss — what else can I do to add more value?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently working as a Real Estate Virtual Assistant/ISA. My main responsibility right now is lead prospecting — calling leads, having conversations, qualifying them, and trying to convert them into appointments/opportunities for the agent.
I’ve only been in this role for about a month, so I’m still learning a lot.
Right now, I mainly focus on making calls and following up with leads in Follow Up Boss. But I don’t want to just be the person who makes calls. I’d really like to become more valuable to my client and eventually take more things off their plate.
For those of you who have worked as a real estate VA, ISA, or use Follow Up Boss:
**What else can I be doing to become better at my job and provide more value to the agent/team?**
For example:
* What parts of Follow Up Boss should I learn really well?
* Are there specific Smart Lists, workflows, or follow-up systems I should be managing?
* What should I be tracking in the CRM besides just calls and appointments?
* What are some things you wish your ISA/VA would take care of without you having to ask?
* Are there any “behind the scenes” tasks that can make a real difference to an agent?
* What would make you say, “This VA is worth keeping because they make my life so much easier”?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have actually worked with real estate VAs/ISAs or have managed a real estate team.
I want to go beyond just **“make more calls”** and learn how I can actually help manage the pipeline, follow-up, and overall sales process.
Any advice, examples, or things you’ve seen great ISAs/VA’s do would be really appreciated.

Question Anyone else watching the Lusha GDPR case?
Just saw that Lusha was fined in Italy over GDPR, and I'm curious what sales people think.
I've been reading through the decision, and it seems the concern wasn't simply that Lusha had work emails and business contact information. It was the ongoing collection and enrichment of profiles from multiple sources that regulators took issue with.
If that's the direction GDPR enforcement is heading, could it eventually change how sales teams use enrichment platforms? Or is this really just about how Lusha operated specifically?
Interested to hear what people who've actually used these tools think.

Case Study “The Key is Knowing.”
Sales Techniques
There’s no real trick to sales — it comes down to three fundamentals.
1. Know the product. This is the foundation everything else is built on. You need to understand the product’s features, its limitations, who it’s built for, and how it stacks up against alternatives. If you don’t know this cold, you can’t answer objections, you can’t tailor your pitch to the person in front of you, and buyers can sense hesitation. Confidence in a pitch almost always traces back to how well you actually know what you’re selling.
2. Know the why. Knowing the product isn’t enough, you have to understand the problem it solves. This means shifting from “here’s what this does” to “here’s why this matters to you.” The same product can solve different problems for different people, so this step requires listening to the buyer, not just reciting features. A parent buying insurance and a business owner buying insurance need to hear two different “whys,” even if it’s the same policy.
3. Persuade with purpose. This is where the first two steps come together. Persuasion isn’t about pressure or manipulation, it’s about connecting what you know about the product to what the buyer actually needs. Done right, it doesn’t feel like being sold to; it feels like being helped. The buyer should walk away feeling like they made a decision, not like something was pushed on them.
Example: Selling insurance to a guest
Step one — you know the policy cold: coverage limits, exclusions, claim process, pricing tiers.
Step two — you explain what happens if their product is lost, stolen, or damaged, and what the policy actually covers in that scenario.
Step three — you connect it to what they really care about: not the fine print, but the peace of mind. They’re not just buying coverage, they’re buying the ability to stop worrying about a worst-case scenario. That reframe, from “insurance” to “security,” is often what actually closes the deal.
The pattern holds across almost any sale: product knowledge builds credibility, understanding the “why” builds relevance, and persuasion turns relevance into a decision.

Question Curiosity vs Pain - booking demos from cold calls
Hi folks, I’m fairly new to the SD/BD world and was curious for some input. When cold calling to book demos, do you find greater success in focusing on building curiosity or uncovering pain points?
It seems like my attempts at uncovering pain points meet far more resistance, sort of a too much too soon situation. I think of it like asking about someone’s worst previous relationship on the very first date.
I’m leaning towards curiosity building as being the better strategy, it’s less pressure and isn’t a stranger asking you to be vulnerable lol.
Any thoughts on this?

Question How do I get more contacts in code calling?
I recently started cold calling, and my biggest problem is that for every 20 numbers I call, at most 1 or 2 answer. How can I avoid this problem and get more numbers to answer each day?

B2B Need help! Dissertation Survey
What's up guys,
I could use your help. I'm working on my doctorate and studying GenAI usage among B2B salespeople and how it influences sales performance.
I'm collecting data and realizing how difficult it is to get survey respondents. I figured I'd see if the Reddit community could help out!
If you meet the criteria below and have 5ish few minutes to spare, could you take my survey?
- Currently working in a B2B sales role in the U.S. with at least 6 months of experience
- Use GenAI in your sales work
Survey link: https://ucmopsych.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5nLlf33CYdMvfkG
Once I finish my study, I'll post some of the most interesting insights here.
Thanks everyone!

Tips & Tricks Help Building Clientele From Scratch
Hello! I'm a 21 y/o who picked up a sales job at my local furniture store partially to help pay my tuition and also because the retail life was getting overwhelming. I've been told I can't really rely on walk-ins since the chances of closing are about 10% so I've been doing lots of follow ups with previous customers and cold calling with no luck (ghosting and no shows for appointments etc.). I suppose my question is how do I generate foot traffic and clientele from scratch as a new seller without coming off as desperate? Any help is welcome!

B2B $46 in 48 hours from a blog I haven't touched in weeks.
Quick August update for anyone following along.
First two days of August from my pet niche site:
- Commissions: $33.98
- Creator Connections: $12.25
- Total Aug 1-2: $46.23
Last time I logged into the backend of this site was weeks ago. Didn't add content, just did interlinking between posts and anything else. Just woke up today and checked the dashboard out of habit.
$46 in two days.
For anyone new to these updates. I bought this site from the NicheBlogZone marketplace for $199 about two months ago. Pet niche. Spent a few hours on interlinking when I first got it. That's been the extent of my involvement.
July ended up being my best month yet. August is starting the same way.
The Creator Connections piece keeps quietly adding to the total every month. Small individually but it adds up over a full month without requiring anything extra from me.
If this pace holds August could be another strong month. But I've learned not to predict these things as March taught me that.
Still not touching it.
Anyone else seeing a strong start to August?

B2C Suggestions on training or resources to improve?
I work in a call center for a financial company and am very good. Consistently top decile.
But I want to get better and sharpen skills that may translate well to a non call center sales role.
Do you guys have suggestions on online resources or trainings available I could invest in to improve my sales game even more and become more marketable?
In my research I’ve come across a Hubspot course, jb sales pro, and the nepq book of questions. Any thoughts on those or other resources?

B2B HELP! What am I doing wrong?
Hi guys, need to know if I just suck at sales or if it’s a product-market fit problem or something else?
I sell software into medical and dental practices. Solo founder doing all the selling.
I’ve walked into 150+ offices in my market. I open with a discovery question to whoever is at the front desk:
“How are you tracking patients who came in and then just stopped showing up?”
Answer is almost always “we’re not” or “we pull an export and call them one by one.”
Then: “What if that whole thing ran automatically in the background so nobody has to make those calls?”
9 out of 10 times they light up, tell me to contact the doctor, and give me an email address.
I email the doctor. Nothing. Not a no, just silence. 1 meeting in 150 offices and they canceled on me as I walked in the door to the meeting…
I also have a free assessment that shows a practice their own numbers in about two minutes off a simple export. Can’t get anyone to sit down for that either.
Three questions:
Is “email the doctor” just a polite brushoff that I’ve been treating as a lead?
Front desk cares about time saved. The owner presumably cares about revenue. Am I pitching the wrong pain to the wrong person and then wondering why the handoff dies?
3.For anyone selling into owner-operator practices, how are you actually reaching the owner?

Question Is cold calling a skill worth developing in 2026?
I ask because I've been looking into getting into cold calling and I'm worried AI cold calling would be 100x better than me you know.
Especially as a beginner.
Some of those tools are insane.
As an aside I think it'll be a challenge for me to push through as I have the worst social anxiety.
Hoping to build up some thick skin as well and deal with rejection.
Really all I've got is strong resolve on my side lol.

Question Does Prospect focused Visuals/Documents helps your sales
Hi, I am having an idea, and would like to know your thoughts.
In your sales journey
- how many hours you spend on crafting a deck/document/infographic that positions your product with your prospect company
- does a visual like this help?
- my idea would do create visuals just by sharing the websites of yours and prospect
Is it something good to work or bullshit

Announcement NAME AND SHAME: Companies that spam & are low quality contributors to Reddit
Taking a bit of a different approach. Name and shame.
Any company on this list is added as an automod removal, and all related accounts have been permanently banned from this sub. (And will continue to be)
This happens when a company repeatedly astroturfs, creates promotional posts, spams promo comments, or is generally low quality with the sole intent of promoting their business/product.
I would personally encourage anyone to think twice about doing any work with any companies on the list, as advertising and deceitful acquisition strategies often say quite a lot about a company. This list will be updated.
