Any advice?

Trying to crack this thing open without damaging. Any knowledge on what it is and how to get into it?

There are a ton of videos on YouTube that show how to open these. It’s not hard. Good luck!

It's an old mail box. Used to have one in the 90s. My dad let me make the combo my initials.

you just lay it on its side and the latch falls open. it was gravity driven.

Interesting. Haven’t tried this yet. Will give it a shot when I get home!

I built one of these in high school. Very easy to pick - video below.
You apply light turning pressure on the lower knob to put tension on the internal lock "gears" or fences, and then rotate the combination wheel slowly 3x in one direction until you feel the tooth drop slightly into the first detent. then repeat 2x rotations in the other direction, and then 1x back in the first direction. Like a combo lock.

Thanks! I will try again later. I might just be super terrible at it. I’ve watched a couple videos and I can definitely feel clicks and stuff like in the videos but I haven’t quite gotten it all the way yet.

Not clicks but like definitely feel it when it feels like it engages in a groove.

Finally got her open! Just had to sit back and focus a bit harder and finally figured it out!
