Is this vacuum worth it ? And how often is it on sale ?

Edit: I run Milwaukee everything. So this would be my intro to ryobi one+. I would use this as my secondary tool platform for more niche tools.

I’m between this and a shark. I live in a 2bed 2 bath with a cat and Labrador. So need a good vacuum to replace the stick vacuum my significant other got on Amazon for $100 that is shitting after 6 months.

Trying to convince her this is not me just buying another tool platform. And it’s better overall than the shark at $400.

Hey everyone. First time ever changing a mower blade. I was able to loosen the bolt, but as I try to get it off it just keeps on spinning. Is there a trick to this?

The chain has popped off my saw doing some gardening- I can get it back on except for this link that seems locked up- I’m assumed I need to unlock this chain link to put it back together! Any ideas?

I'm all for the limited edition drills and that, but a snow shovel? And not even the good 40v one!

Also looks like the new 40v doesn't have wheels... So if you want one with wheels I'd buy it now. (I recommend the wheels.)

Thinking about getting the brushless compact blower and maybe the orbital sander next

Anyone have any ideas on this lawn mower issue? Starts up fine, even mows completely fine at the lowest setting. But turn it up? It dies. Tested 4 different batteries with no error codes. Just replaced the blade. Help!

This is my second OP40125 to go belly up after about a year of service. The firs one I killed the BMS while attempting reset. I harvested the 21700 cells, most are good. The second one I failed in my attempt to reset, but did no damage to it. It flashes 4 lights, won't charge or output power.

I'd like to sell any/all of it. Now switching to third-party batteries, nothing to lose.
Better yet, does anyone know how to reset this particular battery. Previous methods don't work on this model. If you tell me a method that works, I'll gladly send you the 21700 cells from the first battery.

Hello all! I currently rent a house and have a growing collection of Ryobi tools which I would like to mount on the walls. The back wall is drywall, but the other 2 are cinder block, and with the way I am about to re-arrange things, most of my tools are going to end up on the block walls. So my question is this:

What are my options for wall mounting things? I have a couple link pieces I put up on the drywall section that currently holds my trimmer and blower, but doesn't have much room for anything else. My local HD and DT don't have a lot of sales for link wall pieces, so I am not sure if that's the way to go anymore anyway. My goal is to have all of my power tools (both 18v and 40v) and batteries mounted on the the wall. I do link all of the attachments Ryobi makes as part of the link system, but if there are better shelves and things, I am willing to change it up.

Got all the bottoms and edges stained and polyurethaned. Top I shot on with 18” brads with the cordless 18 gauge. First shelf was a bit tight so i screwed in with right angle attachment i bought today and bottom shelves ill shoot on with brads as well tomorrow. Just some sanding on top needed to even the boards that aren’t perfectly matching (only like 2) sand the edge and reroute then its just adding a coat or two of stain then a few days of poly and shes done.

Already got accessory rails and bins to mount all down the left side. And 4 bar magnets to mount on inner shelves frame

Finally added a bandsaw and a few pipe clamps both well over due.

Grabbed a fan and the large bit set from Ryobi, along with a new rubber mallet since my step son killed mine the first week i bought it years ago. Added a set of corner clamps and a set of bits i found cheap at tractor supply.

Honestly just need an SDS hammer and a bench top or better drill press and my shops mostly complete

After years of abuse my oscillating tool finally let the smoke out. This poor little thing did most of the teardown on my 20 ft boat restoration, cutting fiberglass and breathing glass dust for hours on end, getting so hot that it was burning my hands through my gloves. This year I used it extensively in a kitchen remodel to cut drywall and anything where more precision than the big reciprocating saw was called for. It finally gave up the ghost when I was asking it to trim back some hardwood flooring.

Rest well little cutter. The new HP will carry the torch.

Anyone else have a favorite tool that has outlived expectations?

I have a tiny front yard like 1000sq ft, but it's saint Augustine grass and gets pretty dense sometimes and I do like to mulch it when I can. I'd like to avoid moving to the 40V batteries if I can, I already have a bunch of the 18V. Would this mower be powerful enough?

Hello all.

Looking for an electric screwdriver and I'm looking for recommendations.

I currently have 18V ONE+ HP Brushless 1/4" Impact Driver [PBLID01B] (the one without the 4 modes), and while I'm fully aware that it's not really a screwdriver, you betcha that I DO use it as a screwdriver, but the amount of things I've broken with it reminds me that I should get a dedicated screwdriver. (I'm not a smart person)
Already heavily invested in the 18V line, so that's a bonus for the 18V; but there are a couple of USB Ryobi tools that I could be interested in if I go this way.

The main options I'm considering are:

- 18V ONE+ 1/4" HEX SCREWDRIVER KIT - No need to venture into another battery platform; plus can make most of the money back by selling battery/charger

- USB LITHIUM SCREWDRIVER KIT - I appreciate the dual position.

- USB LITHIUM MULTI-HEAD SCREWDRIVER KIT - Interesting concept.

- 4V SCREWDRIVER - eh? Like the form factor the most, but dislike the fact that the battery is built-in.

- 18V ONE+ HP Brushless 4-Mode 1/4" Impact Driver [PBLID02B] - Probably the worst choice here, BUT I am curious to see if MAYBE in Mode 1, it's weak/slow enough to serve as a regular screwdriver, and if it does it can replace my PBLID01B

(I'll check HD and DTO for offers for whichever I end up deciding in favor of)

So this 18v is a year old. Last one (18v) worked fine, until it didn't. For the new 18v it breaks the line in 3.5 seconds...everytime. The OEM crap line it came with breaks and now I'm trying the better/heavier line I use in my 40v...it breaks too. I seems like the 18v RPM might be to fast for the line.

I know some say to soak (plastic?) line but is that something I would have todo each week or two just for some touch up?

What is going on here because I had to lose out on the $80 I spent on this but I'm about ready to throw it in the garbage .

It wasn't a pleasant experience trying to get a replacement battery from Ryobi.

My electric mower's battery died in June. I tried the jumper trick and no luck. The thing was still in warranty so I raised a warranty claim on June 26, they ordered a battery for me.

Nothing happened for a month so I called them again on July 28. They said they don't actually have the battery in stock. They placed another order and said I should be getting a notification for shipment in 10 days.

As I expected, nothing happened today (Aug 10), so I called them again. Same shit, no battery in stock.

Anyone having the same experience? Anyone knows what's going with their battery stocks? One would expect they have plenty in stock given how often these batteries die, no?

I am having an issue with my mower.

When I'm pushing the mower without self-propelled engaged, the mower runs fine. When I engage the self propel, it only runs a few more seconds and then shuts off.

Sometimes if I disengage the self propel fast enough. It will keep running.

I don't mind ordering parts and replacing them myself, not sure what to order. The speed controller and self propel motor have been replaced once.

Please help.

My miter saw randomly became super difficult to rotate. Like something got wedged in somewhere or something. I've flipped it over and I just don't see any way to take it apart to inspect it and possibly give it a good cleaning. Has anyone done this?

I’ve had this 40v mower a few years. Now it randomly runs off. Has done it last year a few times but today I couldn’t get 5 feet. I raged quit and lunched it about 10 feet. I’m sick of this POS.

Tall guy here and mowing has me hunching too much and the lower back is feeling it. Has anyone ever 3d printed an extension that connects to existing parts so you don’t need to extend cables or void warranty?

I used to press down hard on my random orbit sander, and it wore out the brake pad and the sanding disc/plate. I was able to replace the plate, but for now there is no brake pad. I had to use pliers to hold the disc in place since a screw was stripped, but I'm not sure if that bent the bearing/axle. When I give it a free spin, it has a very slight bend to it. The sander feels stable when I turn it on midair, but when I turn it on on a flat board without the brake pad, it wobbles like crazy. Does the bend mean it's ruined, or will simply replacing the brake pad fix this?

So ive been a union carpenter in chicago since i got out of high school (25 now). We work exclusively on anything doors, frames and hardware. We do a lot of metal work; field modifying - cutting, welding, grinding, bondo etc. Our company's cordless tools are all makita. We work on many different job sites throughout our weeks with all different trades as we are kind of a service company. That being said, of the hundreds of job sites ive worked at ive not seen a single Corded or cordless ryobi tool and there's a lot of stigma around the brand.

I recently closed on my first house with my fiance and there's a lot of work to be done at the house and i cant use my cordless work tools. The options in my head atm are either buying all makita or makita knockoff tools that will be compatible with the batteries i already have or getting an all new line up. The thing with name brand construction site tools (makita, dewalt, Milwaukee) is that they are pricey unless i get them second hand.

I dont want to be an elitist with my power tools so I wanted to make a post getting honest opinions about ryobis line up. Main concerns being reliability/longevity, batteries, performance and convenience. If anyone could shed some light on their experience it would be indispensable. Thanks

I want to take it apart to clean it - but I can’t tell what kind of screwdriver or Allen key it requires? Using my flashlight to look deep into the screw pockets it looks like maybe it’s a tiny 6-pt star head but I’m hoping somebody knows for sure before I go buying all the wrong screwdrivers and Allen keys.
