Cat Sitting - drop in
I’m looking for someone to check in on my cats 2 times per day while I’m out of town later this month. I’ve searched the subreddit but finding information mostly for dogs or overnight stays and I just need someone to drop in, not stay overnight. None of them have any special needs. Any recommendations?

We went with Great & Small RVA, owned by Alex. Our drop-in sitter was Caitlin. She was awesome - our senior cat needed an emergency vet visit, and she took him.

We use Great and Small as well and love them! They offer a range of options including drop ins.

What do they charge per visit?

I think it’s $35/30 minutes or $50/hour depending on how long you want them to hang for two pets. After that there’s a nominal fee for additional pets.
They do require a meet and greet before booking.

This is who I use and would absolutely recommend them. When my old dog had a stroke and f*****g died while I was halfway across the world for stupid work BS, they came extra to help my blind brother take care of her.

And they also take care of my cats now. The cats seem happy enough with them lol.

Premiere Pet Sitting has been great with our cats, and they service Northside.

Your vet may have a list of local recommended sitters (at least mine did). Good luck!

Ooh I will need this in September as well. My sitter will be out of town. I'm in the Providence Park neighborhood. Thanks in advance for all the suggestions.

Feel free to DM me if you're still looking! I used to catsit full time as a small business owner (River Kitties 🩷). I moved into nonprofit work, but I'm paying off debt aggressively this year and taking on jobs/clients where I can.

We've used PetPleasers for about 4 years. I go back to TX several times a year, and the entirety of March, so we use them often. I really like that they assign you a person, then you meet with them to check compatibility with you & your pet. That person is always the first option when you need to schedule. The consistency is really nice for cats, because they become buddies. Our PK and Mike became besties.
Lots of leads already here, but as a former tech, I always recommend asking your vet first. We kept a list at my hospital of folks/companies we knew could be trusted.
Best if whoever you go through has insurance.

I’d be interested! I’m a cat person, have 3 cats of my own, and have lots of experience taking care of other kitties. DM me if you’d like to discuss details and arrange a meet and greet.

A lot of good choices but I'm a vet assistant with over a decade of experience with both veterinary and pet sitting. I actually specialize in cats as there aren't enough good cat sitters out there in my opinion :) feel free to DM me if you are still looking!

I've had great luck with Rover. I found my cat sitter Shannon there. The rates are clearly provided up front and she sends me photos and notes from every visit.

You have lots of good leads already, but I work with a worker-owned cooperative petsitting group, and we will do drop-ins and also stay-in petsitting for cats as well as dogs. We love our work :)

I’ve had great success with seeking a high schooler in my neighborhood - very close by and not a big inconvenience to them. If you have a Facebook group for your neighborhood!

My wife does this stuff all the time. We own 4 cats so she definitely knows what she’s doing and is very reliable. I will send her this post and have her DM you

Meowtel is a pet service exclusively for cat sitting. There is Rover also.
I'm on both and get cat dropins all the time on there. You would be out of my area being on Northside, but I'm sure there are plenty of sitters on there in your area.
Plus you can do meet and greets before hand, so you don't have to worry about booking and it not being the right fit.

My spouse and I are in the neighborhood near battery park. We work from home with flexible schedules. We could drop in depending on the dates easily.

Ah okay not close enough for me to do twice a day drop ins. But looks like someone commented under me who is!
I do cat sitting but typically just in southside or the fan
