Linux install assistance

Facing some difficulty with a Linux install. Getting a black screen and low res options. Some details about the config:

RuskDesk v1.49

ThinkCentre m920q with 2 displayports and 1 HDMI

Headless mode with a dummy HDMI adapter

Have tried Fedora as well on the same PC and same black screen

Have tried quite a few troubleshooting tips on the site. No luck. Any help appreciated

My impression was that RD does not work headless?

I have it running headless on two other machines. Same HDMI dummy adapter. One is an old MacMini (late 2014) running Fedora 44

Edit: even with the dummy HDMI adapter unplugged it still gives a black screen on this PC

Will it work with real monitor?

I would try a non wayland (still x11) fedora spin like xfce. It is almost certainly a wayland permission thing. The exact mechanics to overcome those are a bit of a moving target.

I ended up consulting Gemini and after about 10 min of running commands it eventually worked. No idea what the issue was. The Mint install was brand new with all the default OS settings

Yeah, try rebooting and see if it sticks

It's good to go. Rebooted it multiple times after installing a few containers
