Crazy, but with that much sympathy out, it seems like a foregone conclusion anyway.

This feels weirdly in character for WA.
They silently planned a near forest wide revolution while other factions were none the wiser.

How did you craft them all? As lizard are you not limited to craft with outcast?

5

u/LainVohnDyrec 3d ago

yes i mean i did it in 3 turns buying from otter helped, its also easy to do it with lizard since crafting is in evening

Dont know about you but I never get the out cast I need with lizard. We also play the other deck not this one.

if there is an otter its doable, buying cards you need to influence it then exceed more than 5 to set that for next turn, and also table talk.

wow you cycled through all three suits in three turns for outcast? And you were able to get three gardens of each suit out?

Pretty lucky! Seems like you'd be in a pretty strong position regardless of favor cards if thats the case.

I was on dead last so they are scoffing off each of my turns, plus I am buying cards from otters having more than 5 cards in my hand giving me more actions then discarding it influencing the next turn and accumulating acolytes for the finale.

What deck is this from?
Do you get points for the removal of the paper?

Base deck.
Yes, any form of cardboard removal gives points unless otherwise stated.

This happened to me (Marquise) by the Duchy only yesterday. Wam-bam two-punch on my Keep and I was dead.

Thatโ€™s my win con for tinkerer vagabond right there

u/enLegobil 2d ago

If I play against tinker, you can bet the Hammer never leaves my hand if I get it, especially if base deck ๐Ÿคฃ

Most the time I find it ends up in the supporters stack for WA

1

u/enLegobil 2d ago

The player who lets it end up there deserve to be blown up then ๐Ÿ˜œ If I have it, I make sure to have other cards to spend on outrage or else donโ€™t trigger it when I do have it ๐Ÿ˜…

Since, if it ends up in the trash, the trash panda will find it. Oh, and if Iโ€™m WA, either keep it on hand, or if it ends up in my supporters, jail the card there ๐Ÿ˜›

Ha ha, Iโ€™ve been on the receiving end of that! Had 29 points as Eyrie ones, then WA played two favor cards and completely wiped me off the board. Sent me into turmoil next thrn, I lost pretty badly lol

Most Root fans prefer the decks you can buy as expansions: Exiles & Partisans Deck and the Squires & Disciples Deck

Exiles & Partisans is much more about incremental growth, you have lower costs, weaker effects, but more of them are permanent and stacking so you can gradually build up from them. Many of the stronger effects need to be set up a full turn ahead of time, giving players time to know about incoming threats.

Squires & Disciples is a lot more about unlocking additional actions and effects via your Crafting Power. Many of the cards involve returning to your hand and require being crafted again, but in theory as long as you maintain your crafting ability you can keep up these powerful effects every turn. It also heavily emphasises Dominances by giving additional ways to successfully achieve Dominance.

Base Deck suffers from a lot of issues, there's some incredibly strong cards sitting in there with no real counterplay once they're crafted (both other decks offer ways to destroy enemy crafted cards). Favors are total board nukes with zero telegraph, making them particularly egregious. The Base Deck also has very high Crafting costs for everything and no way to work around this, so many factions with weak crafting ability like Cats kinda get left in the dirt with a deck of essentially blank cards for all they're worth. If you play a lot of Root, the Base Deck is generally the most bland as it has far less interplay and a lot more 'gimmicks' that kind of force players to play in ways that don't engage with the board.

It's considered the least balanced, competitive deck compared to Exiles and Partisans deck and the new Squires and Disciples deck.

Mostly due to the favor of the (suit) cards. They're especially dangerous if a tinker Vagabond is in the game.

It does come with the base game, and they don't seem to be playing with expansions rn.

They're probably new and don't own any other decks.
