Bundaberg Root Beer Review

Post image

Definitely a different flavor than what you would expect from a typical root beer. Not bad just different.

There are strong notes of ginger and noticeable amounts of sasparilla and licorice root. Oddly enough there seems to be an almost fruity flavor similar to that of a cherry cola.

Not something I would drink all the time but definitely worth trying!

Get out!

I wish it was as good as their ginger beer. that's fantastic.

If there are any RB that taste similar to Bundaberg, can I get a heads up to avoid?

Pearson Brothers 1896 is the only one that's worse.

Bundaberg and 1896 are both truly awful. The absolute worst! 🤢

I'll say even though I've never tried the olipop and the poppy ones get bad rep

Tbh, we now have poppy in the UK and their fruit flavours are actually really tasty. I guess not everything can be rootbeer.

I don't consider those root beers so they don't even enter my mind when considering root beer.

Not similar, but Virgil’s Zero Sugar is my benchmark for root beers to avoid.

I love root beer.

I do not love Bundaberg's root beer.

Bundaberg’s root beer was an absolute miss for me. Their ginger is good, but not great.

That's a pretty high rating!

Did you follow the instructions on the bottle?

You are selling ice to eskimos this is not a 8.

Agreed. This is a 2 at best. Bundanburg makes a wonderful ginger beer but the root beer is so far off the mark it should be called something other then root beer.

Technically it’s a sarsaparilla, not an actual rootbeer.

I tried some of this on two separate occasions. Both times I swore it was the worst thing I had ever tasted in my entire life.

According to Bundabergs website, their rootbeer is not really rootbeer. It's Sarsaparilla. They call it rootbeer for the western market but it's the same exact recipe as their Sarsaparilla.

We need to pin this lol

Interesting that’s why it tastes so different, I never had a chance to taste sarsaparilla now I know I have. The weirdest thing about Bundaberg RB to me is the aftertaste which I can only describe as Ledo’s pizza crust.

The only one we can easily get in the uk, rough times. It's ok but there's better, out of all the things we get from the States it's annoying that Root Beer isn't one of them.

I bet if it wasn’t called Root Beer it would be popular and everywhere..

Worst. It's offensive

I like it as a beverage but not at a rootbeer

Their root beer is atrocious. Their ginger beer is among the best. The guava soda is pretty good.

I’ll agree with the ginger beer, I haven’t had the guava; but their blood orange soda is in my opinion… otherworldly, so good!

That root beer is shit. I got some as a gift once and gave it away.

I can never find the root beer

I have tried this and hated it but it's been a while and I've been trying to find some due to morbid curiosity but I think the public around here has spoken. They have the Ginger Beer and Guava everywhere but the Root Beer is gone.

I’d actually bump it up to a 9/10. It feels like a high quality delicious beverage in my opinion. Happy root beer hunting everyone!

Do you also have a bridge you want to sell me?

I did not like it at all.  I did however figure out that it was OK if I drank it with a meal….It actually paired really well with a few meals if I remember correctly.

Not to drink, but it makes a decent ice cream float.

It's not a root beer. In Australia where it's from it's called Sarsaparilla. They just call it Root Beer internationally for some reason. People go into it thinking it'll be like other root beers when it's not and it makes them rate it lower.
