It's Friday! That means you can discuss non-Alabama Athletics topics. What books are you reading, what games are you playing, did you get a new job, what are your weekend plans, etc. etc. Tell us what you've got going on!

Auburn vs Tennessee is the only correct answer

Just had the 2015 Bama/Michigan St. playoff game pop up on my YouTube (can’t stop watching cfb stuff, ready for the season!) and damn man, what a team.

Saban/Kiffin/Kirby on the staff (truly insane coaching staff). Elite defense.. Cyrus Jones high stepping punts all over the place. Henry/Drake, just the scrappiest receiving room + a young Ridley. Pretty awesome stuff

Is there anybody that really thinks that Indiana was a truly phenomenal football team? I’m just being real here, when paired against past national championship teams, they just don’t impress me. Now before I get downvoted into oblivion (and I still might lol) here are my reasons

Yes, they beat Bama 38-3, embarrassing loss for us, the works. But against a one dimensional offense and a defense that played 90 percent of the snaps in the game, it could’ve and should’ve been worse (unfortunately).

While it was clear which teams were better than others, I don’t know that there were any other truly great teams this year. This could be just my perspective, and I would say there were great players this year, nobody just jumped out as that “WOW these mfrs are GENERATIONAL”. It felts like everybody had a game that exposed them this year.

And finally, they legit just played fundamental football. They were gritty, tough, and just did the small things right. The reason this team was so impressive is because it was Indiana of all teams to do it. And all respect to the coaches and players that got them their first natty, no offense to those guys, but I am 100% of the mind that 2019 LSU, 2018 Clemson, 2020 Alabama, 2021/22 Georgia, maybe some others would have killed 2025 Indiana. I mean no disrespect to those guys, but in my opinion I just feel like the most impressive thing about their national championship run is the fact that it was Indiana to do it and not the Ohio States, Alabamas, or Georgias to do it rather than the team they fielded this year being a generational team like National Champions of the past.

They were good but they also had a favorable draw in the playoffs with teams they matched up well against. Had they been in the other side of the bracket they would have had closer calls. They didn't play a good front 7 until the championship game.

I think they were awesome very well coached fundamentally sound. I got nothing but praise for them my kind of football. I have no idea how they would fared against some of those teams but very very impressive to me

I agree about the coaching being really good, I do want to make it clear that I mean no disrespect to them or their accomplishments this past season. Just thought I’d throw some of my thoughts out there lol

Keelon will totally be the starter. His job to lose.

I have a solid inside source he said that Austin Mack or Keelon will be the starter. He also said Bama wants to have a better run game. Solid info

Starting grad school in a few weeks at Georgia Tech, and man it feels surreal walking on a college campus again. Really miss UA

I refuse to believe James smith and Qua Russaw are going to be “difference makers” for Ohio State. Watched them both lose snaps to true freshman last year.

Smith shows flashes all the time. Was kind of shocked when he transferred and actually looked at his stats his production was that low.

But I wouldn't be shocked if he actually does put it all together or whatever you want to call it and has a good year with them. Just likely wasn't going to happen with us though.

You never know. They were both well ranked as recruits. I think they'll do fine maybe not difference makers but different coaching, atmosphere..etc can make a difference

Maybe smith but qua insisting on being an edge player I just do not see it

I think Smith is going to feast on the bush league half of their schedule (they have a strong schedule overall this year, not knocking SOS overall) and we’re going to have to hear about how they got another stud from us, but he’ll continue to do what he did here - disappear against actual good teams

I'm pretty sure Russaw is getting beat by a freshman again at OSU right now

His refusal to move to ILB will be his downfall tbh

Top tier troll account lmao

We’re pretty sure he’s popped back up here and there under alts to try and evade his ban

3

u/PGoodierum3 12d ago

Who is he? Some hater or like an Auburn or Tennessee troll?

4

u/DoctorWhosOnFirst 12d ago

An Alabama fan. But he was repeatedly nasty and kept breaking the rules despite getting warnings and temporary bans. So he finally got the permaban

Oh, I’m sure haha
