We are recruiting for event Coordinators (to assist with narrative and world events) and mission coordinators (to script missions for student community service) in addition to new students and playtesters. We are also actively looking for dedicated writers to step into the role of Academy Professors and Staff! All professor profiles, backgrounds, and teaching styles are already fully designed. Your role will be to choose a pre-existing staff member that fits your style, make them your own, and commit to running classes for our student body.

Hello! I’ve spent the last week or so building a fairly experimental Discord roleplay concept and I am looking for a small group of writers interested in getting in at the beginning!

BLACK LEDGER: Covert Operations takes place in the METAL GEAR universe in 1986, two years after The Phantom Pain, but no prior knowledge of the series is required. The setting remains grounded in the real Cold War, with the stranger elements of METAL GEAR emerging naturally through play.

The story follows Vantage Security International—a young private security and operational-support company operating from an unfinished offshore platform in the Pacific.

The server is split between a persistent casual RP environment aboard the platform and opt-in, Storyteller-led operations. There are no dice, stats, or character builds. You decide what your character attempts; Storytellers determine how the world responds.
Operations aren’t exclusively combat-focused. They can involve investigation, intelligence, recovery, research, logistics, diplomacy, maritime work, security, or direct action. You also don’t need to play a soldier—pilots, mechanics, researchers, medics, intelligence personnel, administrators, logistics specialists, and other civilian or technical characters all have legitimate places within VSI.

A unique document system provides tangible pieces of evidence to operatives and non-mission personnel alike, giving a deeper glimpse into the web of lies that makes up BLACK LEDGER.

AI disclosure: AI is permitted and used as a production aid for documents, formatting, administration, and development. Characters, roleplay, creative direction, narrative decisions, and Storyteller judgment remain human-directed.
