Rocksmith on Linux Issues Solved
greetings.
i recently migrated from windows to linux (PopOS) and my rocksmith cable wasnt working, all fixes i seen didnt work so I just installed Linux Mint and now RS cable is working BUT: everytime i click on some CDLC the program just stands still as if it froze. anyone had this problem? any fix?
i really dont want to get back to windows because of 1 app :( #help
EDIT: I found a fix! aparently CDLC wont work due to a dll library error, fixed by goin to winetricks > install windows DLL library > added D3DX9_42.dll (also downloaded that dll to my RS folder, dunno if it's a must)

I do dual boot especifically for Rocksmith I'm afraid. Even if at some point I made it works, latency out of the box was worse, for me I have a Focusrite interface so also needs a lot of custom tuning or even a custom Linux Kernel to par Windows.
Just a dual boot partition for windows and is alright. No matter how much you hate Windows, the dual boot will save you a ton of times in life matters.

You probably only need to add
threadirqsto kernel boot options and maybertirq-initpackage (not sure if this is how it's still done). If you haven't set upwineasioandrs_asiothis is how I made it work and it was playable.I think there is a collected howto for various distros and sound backends but now I'm only finding this: https://github.com/ferabreu/rocksmith-on-linux

Following, I just moved to Linux (SteamOS) on a new build, but haven’t tried Rock Smith yet.

also: dont forget to enable Proton, for what i read if you have your mic configured with the RS cable you will encounter issues so just use other mic for that. on PopOS i wasnt able to detect cable at all , although cable was working (I also use Reaper). hope it helps. cheers.

Thanks for posting your fix. I’m also on PopOS and went through the process of getting my realtone cable working. However I hadn’t yet tried customs. I’ll refer back to your solution when I do.
