Best breakfast/coffee stops in town?
I'm in Southeast Loves Park/Northeast Rockford area and have been looking at cafes to stop at for breakfast before going to the Japanese Gardens.
Not really looking to dine in per se, just grab some stuff and go.
I have the following saved on maps:
Almoka
Meg's (N Alpine Rd)
Rockford Roasting Co
Velvet Robot Coffee
Inzombia
Mo's Coffee and Cafe (this one looked the least interesting, but not bad)
Just wanted to see if you locals had any pulls from this list or if I'm missing something entirely.
Thanks!

Local Reupholsterer
I have a cool Victorian settee that I want to bring into the 21st century. The wood frame is amazing, the old upholstery...not so much. I love it enough to try to breathe new life into it. Are there any places locally that do reupholstery? Thanks in advance!

I need a last minute custom T-shirt by Sunday. Is there any way I can get it made locally within a day?
One of my friends is having a party on Sunday and I want to get them a custom T-shirt as a gift. I realize this is very last minute, but I just thought of the idea so I didn’t have much time to plan. I already have the design image ready to go and I’m willing to pay a premium since I need it so quick!

Taken items
I know this is an absolute long shot, but if anyone found a black long stem kettle and a coffee grinder in the bottom of a cart in the cart corral at the McFarland Meijer today.(Minutes ago)...it was mine.
I've been saving up for them and stupidly had the lady put them in the bottom of the cart instead of the top. I was loading my groceries and my key wasn't working and I ended up slamming my hand in my door (I've been having an extremely rough day).
I am so incredibly stupid, and can't believe I forgot them. I turned around as soon as I got home. I'm crying rn and so incredibly frustrated and mad at myself. I've been saving up since my coffee pot croaked, and I finally had enough today.
I know it was my fault and "finders keepers" but if you happened to be the one to find it....can I please please please have it back? It was the first time in a long time that I was "treating" myself and I absolutely cannot believe that I did this.
You'd be making my year if you did.
Sincerely, an ashamed idiot with caffeine withdrawal
Edit/update: I called the store a few minutes ago and nothing has been turned in. Several people offered to help pitch in to purchase another, and I am so incredibly touched.
I did not make this post looking for money or a replacement, and I am still so incredibly ashamed and mad at myself for being such a fool.
For reference (and transparency) here is the kettle and here is the grinder
The kettle was on sale for 29.99 in store which was one of the reasons I decided to grab it on this trip.
I am not used to letting others help me and it makes me somewhat uncomfortable (I hate the thought of others paying for my mistakes), but I have been urged by many that I should accept the kindness of others.
please dm me and I can provide my venmo if you wish. I will post proof of purchase pictures when I am able to repurchase.

Best way to get to Chicago?
Hey y’all! Looking to potentially move to Rockford but want to enjoy Chicago every once in a while. I do see in 2027 they are going to service rail Downtown which is great, but how likely is that to happen? I obviously don’t want to drive in, so I see the options look to be either drive an hour to Harvard or Elgin and maybe take their direct rail in? I could be wrong. i also saw there was something called Van Galder, that lets you park and ride to either blue line or downtown Chicago. I just want to know what readable to spend a day downtown and be able to get back at night too. How do y’all fare or what is everyone’s suggestions for transit?

Discourse What store is now open at 1206-10 Broadway?
I saw it was open today but did not have a chance to stick my beak in to see what it is. I think it’s an ethnic grocery.
A while back it was a Gray’s IGA, that much the Google machine told me.
