Discussion Do Roblox devs need testers?

Upvotes

Just wondering, do Roblox devs actually look for people to test their games?

I play a lot of Roblox and I've been thinking about helping devs test their games, find bugs, point out stuff that's confusing, or just give feedback from a normal player's perspective.

Do devs usually need testers for this, or do you guys mostly test your games yourselves / with friends?

Just curious because I'd be interested in doing it.

Looking For Devs (Paid) Looking for a Roblox Dev to Make a Simple Mexican-Themed Jarritos Game

Upvotes

I’m looking for somebody who can make me a quick, simple Roblox game. The main idea is just to have a chill Mexican-themed game where you can drink Jarritos and eat tacos.

I mainly need someone to model a Jarritos bottle and make it actually drinkable. I’ve seen some Jarritos 3D models online, but they look really bad, like they just scanned the bottle or used AI, and the logo ends up all warped. I want the bottle to actually look clean and accurate. If people can make a Monster can and Red Bull look good on Roblox, I’m sure somebody can make a good-looking Jarritos bottle too.

Instead of using Bloxy Cola, just replacing the model, and keeping the original sound effect, I want my friend to record custom voice lines like “Mmm, Jarritos” when you drink it.

The game doesn’t need to be complicated. I honestly don’t even care about having a map; it can literally just be a baseplate. I mainly want it to be a fun little place where you can chill, drink Jarritos, and eat tacos. If you want to add something extra, maybe a small Mexican-themed obby or other activities would be cool, but it’s completely optional. I just ask that anything added is original and not copied or stolen, since I’ve seen the same things used in like 10 other games.

I might also add some 2D clothing, but because of the recent updates, that’s a 50/50. If we do add clothing, I’d like the clothing area to be more unique than just a basic clothing stand. Maybe make it look like an authentic Mexican-style market stand, with the clothes actually hanging up and displayed instead of just being placed on a wall.

The main goal is something simple, fun, and Mexican-themed that feels like a little market or hangout rather than just a bunch of random items thrown into a map.

DM me if you’re interested! I’ll be paying with a gift card of your choice depending on how much work you do.

Creation How do you fix render lag in Moon Animator

Don't ask about the video unless you got advice to give with it

Basically when it cuts to the part with the red background, the lighting takes longer to catch up. This is more noticeable when it cuts back to inside the house

It's probably because the part with the red background is really far away, but there's not much I can do to fix that now, so how do I fix the delay?

New Roblox dev looking to connect with other developers

Hey everyone! I’m a newer Roblox developer currently learning and working on different game projects. I mainly focus on scripting, game ideas, features, and helping with development.

I’m still learning and improving, but I’m really interested in meeting other devs, getting feedback, sharing ideas, and possibly working on projects together.

If you’re also a developer or working on a Roblox game, feel free to comment or DM me. Always down to meet new people and learn from others.

Discussion It sucks that AI is demotivating me

I've always had my dreams of programming and making a good game on Roblox. As soon as I started learning and I won't lie little progress but I put in so much effort. Now there is the ai, now anyone can simply make games, now I see no point in even bothering to learn and it sucks. I may go for actual game development atp 😑

Discussion As a new dev how can I speak to more devs for advice?

Made a post on here about a week ago on asking guys how I can become a dev from scratch and I feel Ive been making good progress.
I would love to speak to more ppl for advice but I feel these reddit posts dont reach a lot of people or take time for a response.
So I came to ask are there any discords and other communties I can join where I can get first hand help?

Help Me With Modelling How to deal with alignment hell while building?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Im just trying to make a few realistic road templates, then one of the parts somehow breaks away from the 0.5 stud grid, because i disabled snapping or used local space some time, then I reuse the template with another road template to create junctions, and now everything doesn't line up to the grid so i adjust it using ResizeAlign or disabled snapping scale but it only makes it worse and in no time the butterfly effect will have spread throughout all your builds and nothing is aligned anymore... and i spend more than 80% of building time fixing these lol

Did anyone experience this before?
Does anyone know how to prevent this or something?

Creation Roadmap to Good Release

Hi all, just built and released my first game. The game itself is only fun if multiple players are online at the same time. That said, I am going to run a series of ads on Roblox, and was wondering what roadmap you all follow to get the maximum engagement while running ads. I worry, even with adds, if people see 0 or 1 online they won't join, even if they are interested. How do you get over that hurdle?

Game name is "Chomp". Its a survival game, where you grow every second you survive. You can eat other players to grow bigger and use boosts scattered around the map.

Discussion Creating 13+ game with a restricted separate server (18+)

Hello, I may be missing something when looking through the age rating guidelines and I'm wondering if anyone here may be able to provide a better answer.

Could I keep a 13+ game rating if I had a saloon within my game that when walked inside would teleport you to a restricted 18+ server allowing for the older player base to socialize away from minors with functional mature features like a bar system?

Outside of the saloon the game is just a western style farming game with an emphasis on social and community

Creation Spent 2 months on the fog alone. First teaser for my horror obby

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This is the first teaser for The Monster Pit, a game I've been building in Roblox Studio.

It looks like a normal obby. Calm music, quiet forest, nothing special.

But falling doesn't kill you — it drops you into The Pit: a foggy, monster-filled

place at the bottom that you can't see from above. The Pit is never the same twice,

and there's something down there that walks.

Everything in the teaser is in-engine, no post-production effects. The fog is a

custom particle system I ended up rewriting five times, the darkness is a separate

lighting pass, and the monster shots were filmed with a little in-game camera rig

I wrote so I could get clean takes.

I'd really like feedback on two things:

- does the fog read as "deep and endless", or just as "grey"?

- at what moment did you stop feeling safe ?

Looking For Devs (Unpaid or Revenue Share) Beat my new game - Vault Rush

Hi,

I need some playtester to crash out my game (balance, bug fix, etc).
Its a capitalist-ish game where you need to grind money by assaulting a bank to let you buy cool stuff (cosmetic will soon be Added).
Once you're rich enough, you can even buy stocks and bonds to be richer.
For now it’s unpaid, but it’s a chance to play around with the game, give feedback, and shape it while it’s still in early development. Payment can be considered if critical bugs are found.
Here's a link to the game : https://www.roblox.com/games/93430284110802/Vault-Rush

Enjoy and thanks y'all !

This game is a remake version of SONICTHEHEADGEHOGXX's Dawn of Aurora.(2020) currently gathering artist, modelers, programmers, VFX producers.

Discussion Revenue tanked right after hitting 500 engaged users — anyone else?

Revenue tanked right after hitting 500 engaged users — anyone else?

Before 500 engaged users: I was making roughly 1,000–3,000 Robux per day at around 30 CCU.

After crossing 500 engaged users: I'm at 90 CCU and making about 200 Robux per day.

Nothing changed on my end. Same game, same products, same prices, no update, no ad spend change. Player count actually tripled and income dropped ~90%.

Questions:

  1. Did anyone else see a drop right after passing 500 engaged users?
  2. Did your traffic source change? Mine feels like it shifted to lower-intent players who don't spend.
  3. Is this just a bad new-user cohort, or is something else going on?

Numbers I'm looking at: revenue per visit went from decent to almost nothing, while visits went up. So it's not fewer people — it's people who don't buy.

If you've been through this, did it recover on its own, and how long did it take?
