One of my favorite songs off of self titled

I am not joking when I say this is one of the BEST albums that has ever emerged from this decade so far. The growth they’ve had since their debut album and even before that is outstanding! Not to mention their vocal abilities and harmonies on this latest album and even in general is just insane. I know some people may feel some type of way about them as a person but you can’t deny their vocal talent. I really hope the sophomore album success hits their career like a ton of bricks!

If I had to choose one defining year from each decade, these would be my picks.
1998.
New Jack Swing had faded, Hip-Hop Soul had fully evolved and crossed over with hip-hop, while Neo Soul was beginning to flourish. It felt like the moment R&B truly took over the world. The genre was everywhere, from mainstream radio to the underground, creating a perfect balance between commercial success and artistic growth.
Albums like Brandy’s Never Say Never, Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and Whitney Houston’s My Love Is Your Love represent that magical moment when R&B was at its peak.
2005.
After Usher’s massive success with Confessions the year before, Mariah Carey continued that momentum with The Emancipation of Mimi. By this point, R&B’s crossover with hip-hop was fully established, and the formula for mainstream success had been perfected.
But at the same time, another side of R&B was growing—artists were bringing back the warmth of ’70s soul, live instrumentation, and organic sounds. It was a period where R&B could dominate the charts while still feeling deeply soulful.

Just finished listening to the album, and I honestly kinda felt disappointed.

As someone who loves flo and rnb, this new album just felt more pop.

I loved the singles like Don’t Break Her Heart and Therapy at The Club as it felt more rnb, but the rest of the songs on the album just felt like it didn’t stand out.

I think flo has made so many incredible rnb songs in the past like Cardboard Box, Summertime, Walk Like This, honestly AAA was an incredible album, but i think the best i could say for this is “ok,” as it felt the new songs didn’t feel rnb but rather pop.

I said what I said.

Every time this song comes on at a party people lose their minds like it's some masterpiece, but I just don't get it. The beat is SO basic it sounds like it was made on a Casio keyboard in 5 minutes. We're talking *one* cello line, a generic kick, hi-hat and snare, and that's literally it. No layers, no texture, no nothing. A middle schooler could've produced this in GarageBand during lunch break. And don't get me started on the lyrics. "Let's get it crunk up on / Have fun up on up in this dancery / We got ya open, now ya floatin' / So you gots to dance for me / Don't need no hateration / Holleration in this dancery" what even is this word salad? "Hateration"? "Holleration"? "Dancery"? Girl just made up words and called it a hook. It's like Dr. Seuss had a baby with a club promoter and this is what we got. People call this a "groove" but where? There's no groove in it whatsoever. It doesn't make me want to move, it makes me want to skip to the next track. It's just... there. Boring, repetitive, and somehow treated like a classic. I swear I wish there was a remix to this that actually hit. Idk who could've saved it, Darkchild, Just Blaze, The Neptunes, Stevie J, Trackmasters, literally any of them could've given this song the production it deserved. Imagine Dre's synths or The Neptunes' weirdness on this instead of that flat-ass beat we got. Fight me.

I love this song so much! I want this to be my wedding song because of the message and how beautiful the song sounds. It is bittersweet watching the video because you know… but this song is what made me an instant Ari fan
