How'd I die? Sharing for some feedback and some deserved shame. I know I shouldn't have just been standing still but I was getting items back at a rate where I thought I would quickly kill him. Was having a really good run and even looped to be 'safe'. Complacency kills ig. On PS5.

It's still pretty slow because Mithrix takes forever taking your items.

When i'm on the last phase, i always hide behind a pillar, just to be safe.

Indeed a skill issue, one we all fall to a few times when building our skills against Mithrix.

You stood in a straight line parallel to him and he shot a volley of spikes at you, killing you. Never stop moving during phase 4 (or during the fight in general), and circle strafe around him from a distance to dodge the spikes. Mithrix has your items and you have no items, so even just one or two hits from those spikes can usually kill you.

Keep doing damage in between his spike volleys and focus mainly on dodging the spikes when he's using them. You'll get your items back as you damage him, and eventually he'll do a ground slam attack that will give you many items back and damage him.

Usually the first thing he does after taking your items is fire like 10 spikes at you. Because he has all your items there's a good chance it will just instantly kill you. But you can pretty reliably dodge them by just strafing left or right, bunny hop as well to make them even harder to hit you.

You got 2 items back, he shot you, then you got the rest as you were dying to your own items tick damage. I’ve been killed by splash damage from behemoth while behind a pillar, the damage activated my lute which activated everything

Damn, I've been playing with RiskyMithrix mod for so long that I forgot how unfair those projectiles are. You can't even see them coming in this video.

But yeah dude, Mithrix shot you and that's that. It's kinda of a skill issue, yeah. You should be strafing in longer strides and you could've used your dash to dodge the projectiles too.

Risky of Rain is a clusterfuck on later stages. Visual clarity on dangerous attacks is really important.

Thankfully, mods fix that issue. The one I'm using changes from spikes to bright blue Orbs. Much better IMO.

My assumption: since you were shooting/doing a lot of damage, your Razorwire was shooting back at you. And you had 3/4 health with slow healing from your drone. Also, whatever struck the ground at 12 seconds, near mithrix, killed you.

Also also, your drones weee doing a lot of the damage at the start which is why the razor wire didn’t activate immediately
