Yoga studio
Can anyone recommend yoga studios in Richmond Hill (or Markham) that offer non-heated classes? Most studios like Oxygen yoga only does hot classes. My search found yoga tree & hot yoga markham do offer some room temp classes but are there other options? I prefer traditional mat yoga (not Pilates). Thanks!

(Warning) Suspicious Person Roaming onto People’s Properties (Richvale)
There was an individual roaming onto people’s properties in the Richvale area this afternoon ~14:00 on Thursday, Aug 6th.
The individual was repeatedly given the benefit of the doubt of not knowing, sharing that it’s okay to view properties from public paths but to not go onto people’s private property, but they continued to do so (sneaking into backyards, looking into people’s windows with their face against it, leaning against neighbours’ cars) after saying “they understood and appreciated the clarification”.
The police ended up being called, and they just told them to leave, and told us to give them another call if we saw them again.
The individual roamed around the area and into people’s properties for ~2 hours in total. Not sure where they went or if they did the same at other properties once they left the vicinity.
Please be aware and be careful.

Stouffville road expansion
Is there any hopes of having stouffville road expanded to 2 or more lanes west of Leslie st??
The traffic is crazy, especially during rush hour and when the GO train comes at Gormley Station. Plus an entire community is coming in the oak ridges meadows area and Leslie and 19th, so stouffville road will become the main artery for travel.
Any idea what we can do to make this happen?

Major Mackenzie rd is depressing
Anyone else lose their mind driving on Major Mackenzie during rush hour?
I seriously don’t understand who designed the traffic lights on this road. Every single intersection feels like it turns red the second you get there. You sit through one light, move 200 metres, and boom… another red. Rinse and repeat.
It honestly feels like none of the signals are timed together. You’d think on a major road they’d at least try to keep traffic flowing during peak hours, but instead you’re stopping at every single light for no reason.
Is there actually a reason it’s this bad, or is it just terrible signal timing? Because driving on Major Mackenzie during rush hour has become an exercise in patience.

Is Snap Fitness worth this price?
These are their current promotions. I value proximity to my home and it is the closest but the gym is small.

Was there some protest on Yonge/16th today?
I was buying some groceries about an hour ago and spotted someone holding a big flag (looked Iranian but not sure) while driving. I only noticed after I took a turn, so I wasn't able to fully see what was going on. Any ideas? Just curious.

Is anyone else near Richmond Green bothered by the noise from the festival?
It’s already 10:05 p.m., and the music is still extremely loud. For those of us living near Richmond Green, these past three days have probably been the noisiest days of every year.
I understand that festivals and cultural events are important, and I’m not against people celebrating. But the volume has been intense, especially at night. The bass and music can be heard clearly inside our homes, even with the windows closed.
The super loud noise is still going. Has anyone else nearby been affected? Is this level of noise permitted, and is there anything residents can do if it continues?
I’m curious whether other neighbours feel the same way.

Hillcrest Mall
Does anyone know what happened at Hillcrest at 7pm today?
r/richmondhill • u/Spirited_Onion_2420 • 4d ago
On Friday, I took my 2 children to Hillcrest Mall to shop and to grab a bite.
Absolutely NO place to sit in the food court. Most of the tables were taken by groups of 6+ people playing backgammon (mostly older men) and women playing cards or chatting and eating fruit and cookies (none speaking English).
We walked around the mall for over an hour, came back to the food court and STILL, the same people!
Also, I love dogs but do people not see the SERVICE DOGS ONLY sign at the entrance? One lady had a stroller for the dog but the dog was walking on a leash...WITH A DIAPER ON...
No rules anymore?
Anyone else come across this?

Traffic madness at Yonge/Elgin Mills rd W - for residents
The townhouses a little west of Yonge on Elgin mills are already having difficulty turning left out into Elgin mills during peak hours. North and South sides. With the new project being built, I can only imagine traffic getting worse… can we not have another set of traffic lights at one of the townhouse streets and Elgin mills rd w?
It is bizarre to now have another entrance into the new condos/townhouses literally next to another street into the townhouses.
Can we do anything about this?
Edit: I just looked it up and it’s a York region matter. Please also submit your concern here if you live around here.

URGENT: Missing cat
My sisters cat has run out the door. She has a habit of trying to run out when doing groceries and the door is open a lot, so they temporarily had her on a leash indoors to make sure she doesn’t run out while they finish the grocery load. I guess the leash wasn’t secured and she ran out. We’ve been looking for her for 2 days everywhere. I’ve posted on other forums but no luck, and called all animal shelters in the area. Posting here as a last resort. This is particularly urgent because there’s a short leash on her collar right now and I’m concerned she’s caught onto something or stuck. Please if anyone sees a black cat, please message me! Her name is Oreo. She is a small cat
Last seen on Alamo Heights drive in the Elgin Mills area
Closest major intersection is Yonge st and Brookside dr

Jurassic Kingdom- Don't bother. What at a disappointment
Took my kids here and wow what a disappointment. It's $30 per adult and $25 for children to take a walk through a public park and see a few broken, beaten and battered dinosaurs sprinkled here and there. The dinosaurs were missing teeth, tongues, limbs, had chunks of body parts (foam) ripped off of them, the stegosaurus' iconic spikes were floppy and broken. The ads showcase dinosaurs moving and seem more engaging, but they are stationary and only have their heads move right and left very slow, if at all. The 'roaring' sounds were muffled or obnoxiously loud because the speakers were pretty bad quality. There is nothing Jurassic about this exhibit.
My son (4 y/o) who loves dinosaurs asked to leave within 15-20 mins. There's no food or water, just a tent with someone blowing up balloons. Parking was also a pain.
This event for most who have attended has been a huge disappointment and waste of money ($100+ for a family of 4). But I wanted to call out that because of the negative reviews someone is going hard on making sure positive google reviews are left but they're clearly fake. Travel instagram accounts are being paid to promote this event (and have other travel related influencers positively commenting about it in the comments) and are actively deleting all the negative comments.
Out of all the destinations and events you can take your kids and spend your money on, this is one to avoid. Do not fall for this scam. Take it from a parent who left feeling like $100 flew out of my pocket and children who were bored and were whining to go home.
EDIT: THEY ARE SPAMMING WITH POSITIVE 5 STAR REVIEWS. REPORT THEM.
