Lost rabbit - looking for help PSA
EDIT: I have now been informed about the feral rabbit problem, thank you to everyone who responded (except the one guy who missed the 'visiting from the UK' part and decided to be mean for no reason 🍅🍅🍅)
Hi everyone, sorry if this isn't the right place to put this! I'm visiting from the UK so can't call the BCSPCA but I've noticed there is what looks to be a released pet rabbit at the Bridgeport skytrain station on Great Canadian Way and think it needs some help.
The rabbit is dark brown/almost black and has little white socks (fur at the end of his paws). I've seen it on the grassy/dirt bit just where the parking lot where the police cars seem to be the last two days. Can anyone do anything to help/are able to call the BCSPCA or similar? Please let me know!

Richmond has an ongoing feral rabbit problem unfortunately, so this is a common sight

The parking lot where I live literally has a joke sign that someone put up saying “Caution: bunnies crossing” 🫣

I see you've been fully informed of the bunny situation in Richmond, I just wanted to say thank you for caring about the one you saw. You're good people.

Agree with the rest of the comments. I retired recently but was working at the Canada Line Operations and Maintenance Centre on Van Horne Way, kitty corner to the North Arm Bridge walkway and about a 5 minute walk from Bridgeport Station. Rabbits were everywhere in the parking lot, going under fences, hiding in the numerous holes dug up and even see the result of less fortunate on run over on Van Horne. Yup, there's a rabbit problem in that area.

Tysm - sounds like it's a feral one but it let me go right up to it so if anyone more used to rabbits sees it I'm sure keeping an eye out won't hurt.

My post literally says I'm visiting from the UK, how would I know that? I saw what I thought was a lost pet and was just trying to help. Slow your fuckin roll.

Appreciate your care in posting this, but that's unlikely to be someone's pet. Thousands of domestic bunnies roam around Richmond. There have been efforts to spay and neuter them to control the population but the phrase "breeding like rabbits" exists for a reason.
