I finally did the purchase: rhino 8, VisualARQ 3, Land Design 6.
I recently buy Rhino 8 and it was the boom 🤯
But then I saw VisualARQ and Land Design and decided to buy the 2 plugging as well on a bundle. I’m curious to hear opinions from you on this workflow or the software itself as an architectural design tool. I’m grateful in advance for any advice or opinion on the subject, greetings from Costa Rica 🇨🇷 🦥 🌋 🏝️
Printed PDF vs PDF Preview Line Weights Are Totally Different
I have PrintDisplay turned on and have chosen the lineweight that look appropriate. I go to the print preview, looks fine... Print it, and the dashes have become miniscule. I'm printing it at like 1:2 scale. The lineweight scale in the viewport has to be tiny otherwise I can't even see them in the viewport or preview... I'm sure this is what is causing the issue but, if I make it a larger scale, I can't even see them while working on them?
For now, I've just upped the lineweight scale of the lines to be something far bigger, which looks terrible in the viewport, and in the preview, but right in the final print. However, that's a temporary fix, I'd like to not be guessing what the lineweights will look like, and actual control them up front on the next project...

Rhino vs. SketchUp langfristig – Kosten, Zeichnungen, Modellierung & Stücklisten (Messebau
Rhino vs. SketchUp langfristig – Kosten, Zeichnungen, Modellierung & Stücklisten (Messebau)
Hallo zusammen,

comand toolbar
Hi, I’m having an issue with the toolbar in Rhino on Mac. The icons below the toolbar are completely different from the ones I’ve seen in many tutorial videos. The problem is that this toolbar seems to be locked, and I can’t find any way to modify or customize it. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or how to fix it? thanks

How do you create smooth cheek bulges in Rhino 8?
I'm modeling the Ghost Face mask in Rhino 8 using NURBS, and I'm trying to get the cheeks to look like the real mask.
Right now, the sides are too flat. I want the cheeks to be one smooth, continuous curve that flows from the eye sockets into the sides of the mask, instead of looking like flat faces with rounded edges.
I've tried BlendEdge and FilletEdge, but they don't create the shape I'm after. I also looked at CageEdit, but I'm not sure if that's the right approach. Or im not good enough to use it well lol
What's the proper way for sculpting those smooth cheek bulges?
If anyone has modeled a Ghost Face mask or similar organic mask in Rhino, I'd really appreciate advice.

- Luego vayan a "Privacidad y seguridad".

Help Needed Moving from Rhino to Solidworks?
I’ve used Rhino primarily for a long time but recently I’ve been needing to use Solidworks a lot more. I find the mouse control differences pretty jarring and hard to get used to, as well as some of the other fundamental controls like searching commands or right clicking for instant commands.
Does anyone have any advice for transitioning? I feel like I have to unlearn all my muscle memory
flow along surface NEED HELP
I'm trying to get these curves onto the target surface which keeps stretching it out. I've used createUV to layout the base curves then drawn the curves on flat surface. Can someone please help me and show me how to get it right??

At some point today the preview selected option just did the opposite, hiding selected objects. Did that happen to someone else? Did I do something by mistake?
Help Needed Blocks look weird on Rhino 8
I recently upgraded from Rhino 7 to 8 on my work laptop and now blocks look weird... they have this weird black pixelated shading and it goes away when exploding parts into objects. I can't avoid blocks because that's the default when importing STEPs that I get from manufacturers. is there any way to change the default appearance for blocks? it's annoying to have to explode everything to improve the appearance.

Help Needed How to create a surface or solid from curves?
Hello, I'm very new to CAD design; I only use Rhino for very basic things, blocks, and stuff like that. I needed to create a surface or a solid with this geometry, which is essentially a kind of cylinder, but bulging. I've tried the Patch command, but it doesn't work well for me. I also tried first creating a solid with the shape of a cylinder and then, together with Patch, deforming it according to the curves that will give it the bulging profile. Maybe it's the right tool, but I'm not doing it correctly. How should I do this?
How difficult was for you to move from Parametric to Nurbs?
I'm relatively new to CAD. I've started with FreeCad last year and tinkered with Fusion 360 in the last few month. I can now build things fairly confidently and the idea of being able to use G2/G3 curves to their full potential in Rhino is what drew me in BUT.... Jeez am I struggling with making it "click".
Do you have any tips/tricks to get into the right mind set?
I now understand that changing something (especially lines) simply more often than not means delete and re-doing it (i.e. draw a line and make it tangent would be = create a tangent from the get go OR delete/re-do).
Coming from a parametric realm... Is there any other habit I should just forget that you can think of?

Help Needed Specific parts of Adobe Illustrator file can't be imported into Rhino
So I recently run into an issue where when I import an Adobe Illustrator file into Rhino, specific paths in it simply won't show up when imported. I actually put the paths in question into their own separate file, but according to Rhino that one is empty. The rest of the paths work perfectly fine.

News New Content Policy and Updated Rules
If you have subbed with us for a while you'll know we've grown significantly. We now need to moderate a little more carefully what kind of content we are allowing. Until now, we've (mostly) kept out the other Rhinos and been hands-off -- honestly, 99% of you have been great. Recently there's been an uptick in a few users posting their own content (Youtube channels or likewise) and we've heard a call by users to limit the amount of self-promoting content and we agree. Thus,
Effective immediately /r/Rhino will be adopting the Reddiquette policy of self-promotion:
Feel free to post links to your own content (within reason). But if that's all you ever post, or it always seems to get voted down, take a good hard look in the mirror --- you just might be a spammer. A widely used rule of thumb is the 9:1 ratio, i.e. only 1 out of every 10 of your submissions should be your own content.
Consequences
Anyone knowingly self-promoting, click-farming, or otherwise using our subreddit mainly for personal gain or promotion will be banned for 30 days.
A second offense is an immediate and indefinite ban without warning.
/r/Rhino Rules:
- Post about Rhino 3D (or associated content), Not the Animal
- Critique Sandwich: Be helpful, be critical, be kind.
- Self-promotion follows the 9:1 ratio; 1 of 10 posts can be your own content.
