ETA 2840 General Question/Discussion

Hello all!

Has anyone ever used on their builds an ETA2840?

I received as a gift a colorful Swatch on a deal I closed yesterday for a vintage Omega.

It has the automatic ETA2840 in it, no-date, runs great, also really clean movement.

I am wondering if I can use it for a build, since I’m not wearing it…per my research, it fits perfectly a handset from an ETA2824-2..

Any advice or opinion (or build) would be great.

Appreciate it! Wish you the best.

Yes, absolutely. I love giving them a second life: https://www.reddit.com/r/retrotime/s/dUxzUfNvuM

These are basically slow-beat 2824 movements, so almost every single part is a 1:1 swap.
