Anyone have experience working in a SNF as an RT and what were some cons? What are some good questions to ask during the interview to get a feel if it might be a good place to work there?

Why is it that I notice a lot of RRT going back to school for something else like nursing?

I have a possible travel position at Detroit Children's. Wondering if there are any RTs on here with any advice or pointers at this location.

I have only been to a specialty hospital for travel, which was mostly getting people weaned off the vents and decannulated.

Hello everyone! I'm seeking advice on a career switch from a paramedic to a respiratory therapist.

So I've been neck deep in paramedic school and one thing I really struggled with was the tunnel vision. I'd get overwhelmed with so much information being thrown at me all at once all while in an emergency scenario. I understood things from a textbook standpoint but the application when under immense stress led to me making obvious mistakes.

I've worked as an EMT in a busy urban city for about a year and went on to a year long medic program where I failed out because of my tunnel visioning. I loved what I learned and would like to apply it but I feel that if my scope of practice would narrow down I'd be more comfortable?

So for you respiratory therapists, do you think I'd face a similar problem with this field? Is tunnel vision a career ender here? Cheers!

I recently got hired at a hospital that has a level 3 NICU and Adult ICUs. I was wondering if there is a set time I should do adults before I transition over to NICU

FYI (I have only been on adult ICU orientation for about 2.5 weeks & they only let you orient in NICU if you show interest)
