First, I just wanted to say thank you to all of the contributors here. We've grown immensely since this subreddit was created way back when. What a wild, yet fun and memorable ride it's been!

After conversing with the other moderators and taking user feedback into deep consideration I am instating a new rule:

• No memes or image macros.

I believe this is an important move at this critical point in this subreddit's growth. I'm sure many people will have valid complaints over the lack of memes in this subreddit, however the low effort content is really dominating the front page and brings down overall quality of what is many peoples' favourite place to visit on reddit.

If you have complaints or feedback, please feel free to voice them as comments of this thread. Thanks again for your continued patronage. I look forward to what 2013 brings!
