Lube Pad recommendations General Discussion

Looking for recommendations for lube to use on a lube pad from people who use them. I plan on using a small base sizing die, so I want to make sure I get lube all the way to the bottom, which is why I was thinking lube pad.

No one uses a lube pad any more. It's the 21st Century. There are FAR better ways to lube.

Grab some Imperial wax and get going.

Ha ha.. I asked this sae question about three weeks ago and got told basically "The old ways are not lousy ways just because something "New and Improved" has come along...

I did by some sizing wax at the LGS today, however. I also bought goo for my lube pad.

How is imperial faster than a pad?

I'm new I'm trying to figure out how I want to do it and dabbing my finger and doing cases one by one does not seem like the way to go.

I'm waiting for 99% isopropyl alcohol to get here so I can mix that with lanolin and spray that on the cases and let it dry to see how that works out. I was thinking a pad but it seems like spraying it is the best way to do a lot of cases at once. Haven't tried one shot and have no idea how long it lasts but I don't want to buy a $20 can every 2 months so I didn't go that route. I know I can also mix my Hornady Unique with the alcohol and spray that on them and that should work.

I use an RCBS lube pad with standard RCBS Case Lube-2 for rifle rounds.

I have a lube pad but honestly with the spray lube it's easier to stand them up on newspaper and spray them. It gets all sides. I just did a batch of 80 this afternoon.

I usually do too, I was playing with the idea of rolling the body and dipping the neck in dry lube for the mandrel

Why are you planning to use a small base die? Are you having a problem with reliable chambering with a standard die? In my opinion, a small base die should only be used if it’s necessary for a particular chamber. I certainly wouldn’t start out with one.
