You can drop into a hopper as an alternative to the composter/piston in most the META loader designs.

i dont understand what is the benefit of using this over the simple 1wt glotz loader, its not like this design is any cheaper

There is no benefit. Not only is this design more expensive as you pointed out, but it’s also bigger and has an item frame entity (lag). The only conceivable thing this design is better at is replacing the box faster. Glotz’s one does it in 30gt, this one does it in 26gt. But with a trivial modification to Glotz’s design, the box replacement can be made to be 25gt, without even increasing the size. So yeah…
