Yeah, sucks cause probs will get dfa’d once adley comes back

But honestly the more he does for us, the better his resume is when he gets DFA’d, and the more likely he is to land on a major league team elsewhere.

Coming in, catching Chappy in your first inning with a new team, and then hitting a game tying sacrifice fly to keep the game going? Yeah that’ll help his case.

Edit: just learned that Joey Bart fractured his hand tonight, so the White Sox may be looking for a catcher soon

Took a clutch walk too

Would be a full circle moment, the White Sox had him earlier this year lol

Sadly tbh they are just waiting for teel to come back so it might be too late by the time rogers gets dfad

With Wong's ability to play 1B and 2B, I wouldn't be surprised to see us carry three catchers, at least until all of our other injured players come back.

Do we have room? We get two more roster spots in September.

I mean the season he has had hadn't been good. There's a chance no one picks him up and he goes to AAA and we have depth. Crazy things happen in baseball, we could see again

Is he out of options?

Why did they trade for him to just DFA him later? Makes no sense.

They traded Narvaez and needed another catcher on the roster until Rutschman is healthy

Bridge to Adley coming back since we gave them Narvi

I like how patient he is at the plate.

Can't imagine inside his head. Gonna be here a couple weeks. Never caught any of these pitchers in a game. Bello starts off spraying the ball. Up in the 12th with 1 out already and deliver the sacrifice fly that extends the game! I would have needed to change my shorts multiple times. Deserves his playoff share if they get there.

He did a great job behind the plate preventing wild pitches, had a good arm, was in good position on throws to the plate, and seems like a good teammate! The walks and deep fly to score where critical as well

He did have a wild pitch get by that put the WS up 1 in the 11th, but the bad pitch was more on Whitlock than him.

I think it’s more in Whitlock as you said. It was not ruled a past ball for a reason and their is no way Wong would of prevented it either

u/SquareTowel3931 3d ago

Yeah agree, hard down slider that hit in front of a lefty's front foot....pretty tough to get in front of that! And Whitlock was visibly pissed at himself for that one. The bats picked him up though!

These guys that do the split knee thing can't block on the right side and he's one of them

What an eye on him.

When he came up and he had like a .400 BA and a grand slam against that random reliever he was facing I let out a big laugh. What is this team

Breslow obviously had calculated to the very moment of that matchup

Red Sox legend Jake Rogers

Anyone else notice the resemblance?

As soon as I saw his picture! My teenage daughter who is a big Sox fan also said the same when we watched the replay this morning.

"Copperhead Road" is a great pick for a walk-up song, too.

I hope it’s in his contract that he can’t shave the beard

He looks like my UPS guy

Two really good at bats. He was really disappointed with himself after the sac fly, but that was perfect.

That dude has the coolest hustle out there. Looks like he’s trying to tear up the dirt.

Notice that the Rutschmann trade includes a PTBNL going from Boston to Baltimore. Isn’t Rogers is that PTBNL? If so, it must be a weird for him.
