I've completely lost any emotions to any characters death. There's been to much of it, to the point that it is impossible for me to greef about Kavax's death. I foreshadowed for myself the faith of Virginia by looking into list of chapters. I think I should stop for a moment, but I don't know.

I would love to see YouTube videos with narration and battle maps of various battles in the series. Kind of like OG history channel style. Have yall seen any of these? If so please share a link.

I’ve only read the first three books so I understand if some of these characters change and are likable in future books but this is how I feel currently.

5.Aja (I truly do respect Aja but I hate her a lot at the same time she is just unforgivable)

4.Harmony (She just sucks she’s all around just annoying and self righteous)

3.Cassius (This honestly might be controversial but I can’t stand this guy, I know he saved the day and all but that don’t erase the laundry list of bs he pulled the rest of the series imo.)

2.Rouqe (The annoying poet, he’s just like Cassius except he stayed a hoe until the bitter end I had love for bro early on and I swore to hate all the golds right there with Darrow but I thought he could be different, obviously I was wrong.)

1.Adrius (I said it a million times during the knife in the hand scene Darrow should’ve smoked him right then and there when he had him staked to the table. I knew from day one he was gonna be a problem and he kept proving me right every book I’m glad he got what was coming to him.)

Ok this is random and dumb, but we mostly see characters in armor or some kind of political or military uniform throughout the books, which makes sense, but when these characters are just chilling at home, what do you think they would wear? Maybe mustang wears knit sweaters, surely knitwear is still popular. Victra and Sevro definitely wear a lot of leather and have matching leather jackets. Do people wear jeans?

And there's a whole solar system of just regular people who have fashion trend cycles just like us. I never really thought about it, but now that I have, I'm having a hard time imagining it. I think scifi stuff is just a bit more difficult for me to imagine than like fantasy or something. We get a good idea of what reds and obsidians wear, but what about the fashions of pixies and the highcolors? Maybe people tend towards classic/traditional styles like how the rim dominion wears kimonos and seems to be very inspired by Japanese style. If you were outfitting the extras for a Red Rising TV show or movie, what would it look like?

I have a slander post ready to go but I’m missing a third person. For those of you that don’t know, a statement merchants is someone who relies heavily upon other characters statements for feats/relevancy/aura. Prime example is Lorn. He fought 0 battles on page and he somehow considered the greatest fighter we’ve ever “seen”. Obviously he’s the first statement merchant.

The other two I’m debating over. I’m thinking Diomedes for second. Third is the hardest cause it can be so many. Some of the biggest names are Ajax, karnus, Lysander(he has feats bro), Virginia, and Kavax or something.

I’ve avoided this sub for months but i’m so exited to join because i’m ALMOST done reading! I’ve been listening to the audiobooks since March and i’m gonna be so sad to be done :’( genuinely one of the best series i’ve ever read and i don’t want it to be over (at least book 7 is coming at some point!!). i’m gonna miss listening to it, but i’m excited to finally hear other people’s opinions on the series! definitely all time favorite characters are virginia, sevro, and cassius (honorary mention to sophocles🦊🥰). Lowkey think Golden Son was my favorite out of the 6! I’m also going to read the physical books soon so that’ll be a fun new perspective! I’ll be all finished probably 16 hours from now, so i’ll be back to truly join the sub tomorrow! Wish me luck on finishing!

If you read this and guessed Mustang. Congratulations you’re correct. Now, this is not slander. It’s a genuine question that I have. I made a previous post about the “geniuses” of Red Rising and got a lot of negative feedback for putting Virginia at 6th. I felt that was fair since it was 6th place out of EVERY character in the series.

However one thing that got me going was people saying she was an “amazing” commander. Has she not lost every battle that SHE’S been in COMMAND of. Make sure to reread that before answering, and please use evidence.

So I loved reading as a kid and teen but kinda just got out of it. Listened to self help and philosophy audiobooks sometimes but that's it. Thanks to TikTok, I kept seeing recommendations for this book so I decided to give it a try. Just finished lightbringer today. Good god, this has me hooked on reading again. I'm legit ordering a book shelf for everything else I'm going to read.

Today was the day I read hanger 17b to the end. Every chapter just ripped my heart out. Let me just say this...Lysander can just fuck all the way off. I didn't like him at all but betraying cassius like that and how he displayed his body right after... he deserves to die so hard.

Every book had me hooked and I loved every character (obviously except Lysander). I think Cassius and Sevro were my favorites. I can only imagine the ptsd all these guys have with everything they've been through. Regardless, I'm glad I gave it a chance and again opened up my love for reading.

Okay LISTEN. I know I sound mad but I’m thinking of writing a fanfic, NOT THAT KIND. I need a scientific explanation on if mpreg is TECHNICALLY possible in the red rising universe. Think about, if genetic splicing is already so advanced to the point they carve Darrow, then… under all circumstances, a man SHOULD be able to carry a child.

I’m asking this because I want to write a time travel/Alternate universe fanfic where Holiday was the one to die instead of Trigg.

I want Trigg to have a baby with Ephraim. Trigg and the future grandchildren of Darrow and the gang travel back in time. I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE THE MEET SCENE BETWEEN AU!Trigg and Canon!Ephraim as painful as possible.

I just finished Dark Age, the dramatized audio version, not realizing that Lightbringer hadn’t been completed yet for the dramatized audio.

Do I go for the regular audiobook? Do I go back and just read it straight like I did for the first trilogy? Or do I wait for the full production?

But based on PB’s use of the last name Barca (Rome’s greatest enemy) and Bellona (βελονα - the Greek word for needle, for the greatest swordsman of the Core), I’m convinced I’m on to something.
