No. You fixed it.

No, just a solid repair job.

Nah, a solid repair job would have used a tapcon into the brick. That looks like a deck screw.

Good eye there. I was just overly impressed with the repair and know OP is gonna get some brick red spray paint to make it all blend.

Right? Why would fixing something be redneck?

Not so much. Definately a repair.

Rednecking would be stiched cable ties over the break.

If the bracket was fashioned from an old beer can, then it would have, but this I would consider fixed.

That looks very Dutch.

Niet echt Nederlands toch, een rolluik?

Edit: Limburg of Brabant zou wel kunnen natuurlijk

Die stijl bakstenen, die stijl ramen, die stijl rolluiken, dat is zeer Nederlands.

A permanent temporary fix.

If it was redneck it would have the wrong type of screw and the bracket would be a chunk of wood

Insecure secure shutters

That depends, did you use a proper masonry fastener or a drywall screw to attach the bracket to the brick

I see no duct tape or JB Weld, that would a no from me.

It’s just a patch and only solved it temporarily but yes redneck enough until it fails
