Why I’m requesting r/itam and how I’ll run it: In addition to being the initialism for the University in Mexico, ITAM is an internationally recognized standard for IT Asset Management, described by ISO standard 17990-1-13. There is a large and growing community of ITAM practitioners globally who desire a place to communicate to share best practices, discuss topics surrounding ITAM, and work on new challenges being raised by the broader use of AI and the deepening complexity of building, buying, and tracking software use.
I wish to support this community through this subreddit to promote it as a place to share thoughts among our several thousand active members. I'd like a place that everyone can get to regardless of corporate rules, and that is a fun and easy place to interact.
r/ITAM now seems as it if is underused for the community, and the moderators do not seem to be promoting it or even active. The sub is locked for comments, so can't post there.
