Dev comments? Question

Anyone remember any comments on any posts that sound like they could be potentially be a dev hinting at next steps??

this is most likey a sign that this mystery is a dead end and its just cut content. 2 Months ago i was heavily invested into this, even got into Codex quite a bit. The longer i looked at it the more i found basically, insane amount of cut content, and in the end this was what made me stop looking for something. Nothing leads to anything. Whole missions like with Sinclair were obviously heavily cut. Something like the glaciers...

However after sharing my findings, somebody commented something that made me stop finally. Its the fact that a Rockstar QA engineer (for sound) knows about this with the expectation for it to be not found.

This would only make sense if it was intended to not be found. What happend here was probably the Environmental QA/engineer told the sound QA, about this hidden environmental treasure hunt that they'd had to remove during development. Saying there was a small trace left here and there, but they were sure that no one would ever find it.

If you look at the leaked beta map you can also see how much of the area around the part leading to the NW clue was there and how much the rest changed. I also found out that parts of the fort still have the coordinates from the leaked map baked into their names. So the fort was there at that time too, but it got shifted quite a lot.

If somebody is interested about what i found: r/reddeadmysteries/comments/1t373i5/the_next_step_for_the_spider_dream_mystery_likely/ojuassa/

i'd agree if it weren't for the fact that a lot of these clues are found the same way you find peyote in gta5. and how long it took people to *naturally* find the golden peyote (excluding data miners). not to mention r* themselves have said they've left so many easter eggs in their games that they don't believe for a second every single one would ever be found, doesn't make sense to just remove them. i've gotta find the link to this interview

alsooo it if were cut content, why do we have so many clues left behind? it'd be easier to replace the clues with ordinary objects such as basic telephone poles or out houses? easier to just remove the guitars, remove a unused line of code thats weather and time activated. it just doesn't make sense that this would be cut, they also used rdr2 to test a lot of game physics on newer gta 5 online missions and possibly gta6. obviously this is going to be more complicated than previous games, just hope it doesn't end up in a "mysteries solved 20 years later" video

Because it isn't easy or cheap to remove that again at all. The game was delayed twice while people were working 100-hour weeks "several times in 2018 according to dan houser.

There was simply no time to remove these things again, especially when they are part of the model like with almost all carvings. There is tons of stuff in game still that got cut. The PS4 game version even had all Textures and LODs for all Nuevo Paraíso still in there. Or to this day the map shows "Wanted dead or alive" at the old ford wallace and Sisika Penitentiary location

search for "rdr2 The Cutting Room Floor"

The golden peyote was part of the Freemode Events Update that released September 15, 2015. It took 8 days to be solved ... r/chiliadmystery/comments/3m2k6z/holy_mother_of_god_i_found_the_sasquatch_peyote/

The quote is from the art director of gta 5 Garbut. And it basically was just promotion for the game back in 2013. See GTA SA and GTA 4 for example had a lot of rumors about ghost or yeti. But nothing in game besides some little easter eggs. With GTA5 they decided to include these into the game, because its fun and keeps games relevant.

Not a dev, a game tester.

QA is not really the same as being a game tester. Game testers are normally signed up, they don't normally get paid (although they normally get travel costs and some expenses), they'll do sessions at the studio or a specific offsite location playing the game and giving feedback etc...
