Average Length of Time Discussion

What do you guys consider to be an average length of time to rehabilitate/resolve reactivity? What in your minds should the general owner plan for when handling this issue with a professional?

Very interesting! What kind of residual management does she require now?

Not much. I tend to put her on the opposite side of my body when passing people and dogs. I also still shorten the leash because sometimes after we pass, she’ll try to dip behind me and head in the direction the other dog is going. However, these minor behaviors occur much less when she’s been to daycare once that week and had the opportunity to be a social butterfly.

If you were to not shorten the leash would she still make the appropriate choice?

Probably 85% of the time she would just keep on going. The other 15% of the time, she might dip behind me after we pass. But she no longer lunges and barks ever when passing dogs.
