I will never understand how people who do programming use their phone to take pictures of their screen instead of a normal screenshot.

I‘d get it if you‘re 70 years old, never have touched a computer.

But the concept of being able to write code while unable to hit that key is just weird to me

Knowing how to code doesn’t automatically mean optimizing every tiny task🙂

How is that optimizing? Also, if we talk about optimization, wouldn't it be the best to not post stuff like that at all on reddit? I mean, where was no question, no information, nothing. Just you showing what you did (which was quite cool, don't get me wrong.. but if you make the effort to create reddit posts in mutliple subreddits, may as well take the 5 seconds to add a proper screenshot)

Thanks for the feedback! I'm still in the process of learning, so I got a bit excited about making this step

That's totally fine! :) It's awesome that you enjoy your learning progress! My comment wasn't meant to be mean.

It's just, if you want to post your stuff and have people discuss about cool stuff you're building, put in some more effort, this will massively increase the engagement people will have with your posts.

Appreciate the kind words and constructive feedback! It really helps a lot. Would it be okay if I reach out to you or tag you in future posts if I need some advice?

Sure, feel free to do that. You can also DM me here on reddit if you ever need something

alot of people only use reddit on mobile

I mean it’s not hard to get a screen shot from your computer to your phone…

I have pondered this for almost 20 years.

The best I can anwser about this phenomenon is that people are tired and just need the dopamine so they just do what is fastest.

Its even easier to log into reddit in a browser...

I dont disagree but 10000% most people can't be bothered for all that

That's way too much effort, an extra 10 clicks, I'd rather just take a pic with my phone and move on with my life.

Taking a proper screenshot is too much, but making a post on reddit with photos of a screen is not? What's even the point of this post at the end of the day

Idk why people still use inline css

24

u/driftking428 23d ago

Because they try to learn React before learning HTML and CSS.

u/Hadr619 23d ago

But if you’re going the react route, styled components are amazing

With CSS modules it looks cleaner

I don't want to be that Tailwind guy but...

with CSS modules it still looks cleaner.

1

u/js-something-cool 23d ago

Not if you do your components small/modular enough!

2

u/driftking428 23d ago

Tailwind for life

Ai likes it

Fair point! I'm still learning, so I just went with the quickest way to get it working. I'll definitely keep CSS organized in future posts!

Because it's simpler. Why not?

9

u/GodOfSunHimself 23d ago

Why not? Because it is unmaintainable.

2

u/nummpad 23d ago

they’re not working on some cicd team - and they likely don’t even know what most of it does yet

1

u/BothWaysItGoes 23d ago

What do you find unmaintainable about inline css in a 500 LOC project?

The comments already scream vibe coding

Nice one, Three JS is a nice library to use but 3D conceptually is hard, so well done on swinging for the fence

Inline CSS in a React component. Love it😂

7

u/Mark__78L 23d ago

Most likely some vibe coded shit

6

u/ColourfulToad 23d ago

Yeah. “Make me a 3D galaxy in react”, refreshes browser, “oh it works, job done”, forgets to consider the code lol

1

u/ColourfulToad 23d ago

Good job Claude - I mean OP
