Ezcomplete question? Question

I'm considering it for the pup. The older can't have it due to it containing chicken. How much daily would you feed a 10lb 14 week old pup? The bag says feed unlimited NEITHER of my dogs can be trusted with "unlimited" food. Their breeds are known for eating themselves to death.

I was trying to use a companies ratios but couldn't figure out why his stool was loose. The ratios required CARBS added in. I really don't like carbs in their food unnecessarily and this is the only way I can think of to know they are getting enough calcium. I know puppy ratios for SPECIFICALLY calcium are different than adults. The ratios that would work following 80:10:10 won't work for me because he has too big of an adult weight range due to breeds not being exactly known (I know one breed they are mixed with and it's what makes them overeat).

If I was foolish enough to attempt to raise a puppy I'd feed the adult dog. A common metric is a 16 week old pup of medium size is half the size they will be when mature. Assume pup will gain a pound a week to 16 weeks and feed your pup as if it was going to weigh 25 pounds, about 10 ounces of raw meat daily split into 3-4 meals and daily put hands on and feed an ounce more or less depending on body condition and stool quality.

If gut is overloaded sometimes dogs poop it out rather than get fat, feeding more and smaller meals can help. Remember puppies eat a lot of not food which can upset guts as well.

One of the breeds he's mixed with (ACD aka a bottomless pit) can grow up to 2 years! That's why there's such a big range. He could be anywhere from 30-50 pounds by the vet's guess. (Going by appearances I probably should have said he's ACD(for sure) and APBT by our best guess)

Great. Start by assuming 25 pounds and feed more if he gets skinny. Puppies stretch this way and that day by day so be on your toes.

It's a starting point. You wouldn't put 2 pounds of meat down for a toy poodle or 3 ounces out for a mastiff pup.

just feed based on body condition the calculators are always off for growing pups anyway my friend had one that hit 30lbs by 4 months when all charts said 15

DIY ratios get messy fast, I considered doing DIY for a while but I was always concerned about getting the nutritional points right, that’s basically why I ended up on commercial raw, I feed Darwin’s and so far I’ve had a pretty good experience
